>> No.4450270

Arguably the most powerful martial arts in Japan.

An Aikido practitioner is practically invincible, no one of any martial arts background can ever land a punch or kick on one.

Using the power of the attacker, the Aikido practitioner uses absolutely no energy to knock them down.

A fearsome martial arts it is.

My Aikido dojo is across from a Karate dojo. We usually get alot of rude remarks from them, such as Aikido being for weaklings.

Well, one of them challenged me, he was a white male in his 20's. I accepted of course, I never back down from a challenge.

He had really good form, but his Karate was no match for my Aikido. He delivered a great kick but it was nothing for me, I easily grabbed it and knocked him down with a kick. This went on for about 10 minutes until he got too tired.

He got frustrated and left, he was about to cross the street but I stopped him from getting hit by a speeding cyclist. He didn't say thanks but it still felt good to save someone.

I have defeated countless opponents using Aikido, and they always ask me, Why are you so strong?

I answer, I'm not strong, you are.

Aikido uses the strength of the attacker back at them but 10 times stronger(estimate). Using Aikido and I can probably kill a charging Rhino using it's force right back at it, of course, I'm not going to try it, way to dangerous for any sane person.

I recommend practicing Aikido for every /jp/edo, as you are all physically weak, and Aikido is specialized for the weak to defend against the strong.

Okay, this troll with his aikido is an idiot. Only a few legit teachers and schools are good. You know why? Because they actually teach the concept of sparring and live practice. Gozo Shioda and Kenji Tomiki are badass aikido teachers. Tomiki learned under Jigoro Kano and Morihei Ueshiba.

I train in judo and sambo. 99.9% of aikido-ka are going to be helpless against anyone that's trained in a half-decent judo or sambo school. Those wristlocks and aiki won't work against a leglock or a choke.

I believe you shouldn't underestimate Aikido. Now I know you may be thinking, "Why take a weakling martial art like Aikido seriously when I am learning Judo?" I can see why you would think that, how can a peaceful martial arts like Aikido beat a powerful one like Judo?

Well, I have a story to share with you.

Years ago, I was a Judoka, I thought I was the toughest kid in high school, I would pick fights, and kick ass. I was full of hate, until I picked a fight with the wrong dude. He was a Japanese exchange student, I still remember his name, Noboru Takeda.

I picked on him because of his hilarious and thick Japanese accent. I told him I was going to beat him so hard, he would go back to China(Yeah, I was a little racist prick.), he never said anything back, made me wanted to kick his ass even harder.

Well, here comes the fight. I threw men and do strikes, he dodged them like I was a mere white belt. I was tiring out and he knew, I saw the smirk on his face that made me raged hard. I put all my strength in one amazing move, and he grabbed past it to my wrist and threw me over. My back smacked on the hard cement ground, and I was knocked out for who knows how long.

When I woke up I was in the school infirmary, I asked the nurse who brought me here, and you guessed it, Noboru Takeda. The next day, he wasn't at school, he was back in Japan, and I never got to thank him, for saving my life and showing me the light. I soon learned that he was an Aikidoka and have been practicing Aikido ever since to show my thanks to him.

They're not exactly throws. It's kinda of a gray area when you sweep a guy with a leg kick. Hip throws, however, are not allowed in Lumpini and Rajadamnern. They had those specifically because Japanese kickboxers in the 60's and 70's did that against Thai fighters and they didn't like that. Some older styles of Muay Thai which retained the all-round fighting aspects of Muay Boran specialize in throws. That's why Pajunsuk did well against Sanda fighters in a Muay Thai vs Sanda match a couple of years ago.

Only one knee in the clinch is allowed and then you have to break. Kohi was BLATANTLY breaking the rules and that's why Buakaw's face said,"Oh, it's on now, bitch!"
The rule changes are because Semmy Schilt is so damned tall, he pretty much kills anyone in the clinch. And K-1 prefers more punches and kicks as well knockouts so they don't like the clinch. It's because it draws more viewers that way. I prefer to watch AJKF and SNKA if I want to watch the Japanese kickboxing/muay thai scene.

You can only defend so much of your body at any given moment, so different styles and stances place different emphasis on protecting various body zones.
Styles made purely for killing often assume that the opponent is also going for a pure kill, so tend to emphasize defense centering on vital zones. Sometimes this means that they'll end up with too little defense on a non-vital zone that can nevertheless be crippling, especially when it comes to a non-killing style that specializes more in exploiting that zone.
For example, if you're too focused protecting your windpipe from being crushed, you may end up leaving yourself open for a submission or non-lethal choke. Similarly, if you're too focused on protecting against submissions and non-lethal chokes, you may end up leaving your temples or other vital points unprotected. Etc etc etc.
TLDR, there is no ultimate style.

Seriously, it's a different fight discipline. Where the hell does MMA get it's striking primarily from? Boxing and Muay Thai.

There was this BJJ blue belt that was pretty full of himself at the gym I train. He thought he could get us onto the ground and choke us out. Tim, one of the senior guys who trained for several years, just kept on low kicking the shit out of this blue belt's thighs until he couldn't walk properly and then hit him with a cross. He went down for a while. When he woke up, he went outside for a bit, came back and apologized. Only under fight sport conditions. I like grappling as much as any MMA fan or fighter, but talking shit about striking is idiocy. Pre-UFC, people DID know about ground-fighting. Hell, this country used to have catch-as-catch-can wrestling and its wrestlers used to tour the world at the turn of the 20th century and fought against other styles of wrestling. It's because of the stupid kung fu craze in the 70's and the ninja phase in the 80's that people neglected grappling was seen as "lowly". Even karate and kenpo utilized some wrestling in its early days, because a lot of the founders did street fighting. Shit, where does BJJ and sambo get a lot of its moves from? Judo, which had everything from strikes, takedowns, ground transitions, and submissions. But judo, wrestling, and other grappling sports just didn't get its due respect until MMA exploded onto the minds of the average person.

Its lunch, I went to my favourite sandwich shop, got a delicious veal sandwich and was on my way back home. There was this thuggish "Nigga" style black dude, he was behind me, I stopped, because he was walking quite fast, and I didn't want to be in his way.
He comes up to me, and asked, “Do you have any money?”, I knew where he was going with this, so I said, “Yeah, but you’re not getting any of it.”, and I walked away. I suppose it’s in his blood, he was going to punch the back of my head but I quickly grabbed and threw him over my shoulder, he fell down and became unconscious. I checked if he had any drugs/money, found cocaine in his jacket and called the cops.
I guess it wasn’t really a fight since it lasted less than 10 seconds, it really shows how effective Aikido is in real life situations.
It feels good to help the police catch drug dealers/druggies.

Most of those guys win a majority of their fights on their feet. BJ will occasionally choke a bitch, but that's about it. Wrestling is technically grappling, but they're just using it to punch people in the face more effectively.

I personally love watching subs, Aoki and Sakuraba are the shit.

Sakuraba along with Funaki are the two greatest catch wrestlers in MMA. I wish they were both born 10-15 years later. Shit would be so cash if they were in their prime right now.

That's true for Machida and Silva.

However, Penn has as many wins by submission as he does by knockout. GSP spends more than half of his fights slamming opponents and pounding.

And you can't tell me you think LOSNOR is in any way a good striker on his feet.

I was walking to the UFC gym in my tapout shirt when some faggot in a gi stopped me at the door and yelled "I TRAIN AIKIDO." He took up some stiff formal stance and bowed in respect. Fuck dat nigga, dis is for real, so I didn't touch gloves with him. I went into my southpaw stance and started landing leg kicks early just to outpoint him. He tried his own legkicks but I caught it and shot in for the takedown and unleashed my ground and pound. My elbows are like machetes and I cut him up early, leading to a referee stoppage.

Aikido is inferior to the original, superior, Corean martial art, Hapkido.

An Aikidoka can only stand and react. You can beat an aikidoka with no effort, simply by doing nothing. If I wanted to rob an aikidoka, all I would have to do is make sure not to attack him while doing so. It would be easy. You cannot redirect any force if none is applied.

But even a mere white belt in Corean Hapkido could defend against a nonaggressive attacker with his striking prowess.

If Aikido is so good then why do its practitioners carry guns? All I need is my 4 ounce gloves and some Xyience for energy.

>> No.4451739

aikido is too overpowered and deadly
with a gun you can leave a corpse
now with aikido, you will erase the existence of your opponent
you won't believe how many people got carried away and ended up vanishing their opponents
