KC is basically immortal desu, it's second only to Touhou and will outlive the game itself.

As far as I'm aware the idea that the girls actually have the souls of the ships they are named after is exclusive to the anime.
I haven't finished everything yet but I don't know of anything in the games or novels that implies that the girls are anything more than soldiers who are named after historical warships.

You could add Genshin and Arknights and Princone and Granblue circle numbers together and still be a hundred short of Kancolle.

There was still a decent amount of Kancolle stuff at C102. Course not nearly as much as back in the day. Actually, it felt like even touhou didn't have as many circles as they used to I think.

Kancolle is still remembered.

Knowing that Kancolle is heavily based off World War II and World War II ships (especially Japanese ones) are fans of the game aware of the horrible atrocities the imperial Japanese army commited during the war? Like, maybe the rape of Nanjing is mentioned or alluded to somewhere in the game or perhaps the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Obviously these are just a few of countless examples but I wonder if Kancolle was like a wake-up call for them. Maybe they're playing through the game and they'd say something like "Hey, my grandfather fought in this battle!" or "Wow, these American ships are so powerful! No wonder we lost the war!"
