this one is very obvious but it's relatively rare (17k), so it's pretty easy to not encounter it in the first year or two. for example, according to jpdb this word is in only in 1/4 of VNs and 1/10 of WNs. so it's easy to miss it in the beginning when you're slow and read few works.

Hello. I'm wondering if there's a way to add multiple lines to the comments in the Google IME dictionary tool. I want to add notes for names to remember what kanji are used.

how important is learning the trailing "u" in words? should I be strict about getting a reading wrong if I think it has a trailing u or not. For example if I mistake ゆうしょく as ゆうしょうく does it really matter how 夕食 is read in this regard?

Just a question about Kanji with how On’yomi and Kun’yomi works within it. I'm confused about howed it really works because the words have different meanings.

For example, the Kanji Character " 入 " means " Enter " and is pronounced as " Iri ".

But the On’yomi for it is " にゅう " which means " New " and is pronounced " Ni ~yuu ".

And the Kun’yomi for it is " はい, い " which means " Yes" and is pronounced as " Hai ".

I'm just trying to understand why these completely different words are grouped together.

I do get that they're the Chinese/Japanese origin/pronunciation but I don't get why they're so different.

Also, from what I understand On’yomi is Katakana while Kun’yomi is Hiragana.
