Well to be serious for once, the majority of Japanese video games are made for otaku. And if it's made for Japanese otaku, then it has to be a part of /jp/.

A good way to tell: if it has 2D anime art, then it's something made for virgin NEET otaku.

Persona 4, or La Pucelle.

Disgaea. I bought the game before I owned a PS2. I just imagined how good it would be for a few months until I picked up a PS2.

It was made to be a Galge game, it marketed as a Galge game and it actually is a Galge game.

And if people were to argue that "If AT are Galge games then so are Persona xD" it would just be stupid.
Ar Tonelico is a Galge game as it's whole focus are on the Heroines and their specific routes, the girls are the main factor of the game and the gameplay is just a minor addition.
Persona has a minor dating aspect but the girls are far from the main factor.
And Ar Tonelico has all the erotic CGs and everything else for that matter as well even if it doesn't have in game porn.

Really, I do bet that if AT was translated by a more obscure company/group and developed for the PC by another company and also being easily pirateable people wouldn't have these debates about AT.

The second game is a great improvement over the first in terms of gameplay elements, though I enjoyed the music more in the first game. A translated review (was it Famitsu?) claimed that Ar Tonelico 3 has a very impressive improvement in gameplay.
