It was, at one point. But since then, ZUN has improved in terms of anatomy and proportions, at the cost of what made his art so charming, it looks like.

Not to say none of his recent art exudes any charm, mind you (i love Keiki's portrait, for example), it's just that a lot of it still feels kinda... plastic, i guess?

SA's weird because half the art is in the good old style ansd half is in the new shit style, compare Satori and Koishi to Okuu. Okuu is in the 12 style. 14 onwards he's just been finding more places to cut corners and make it more bland, the new games don't even have the ghost pale skin anymore. Only modern game with good art is 15.
