It may be that you were just nervous. Heart rate is variable. As long as your temperature, blood pressure and hemoglobin levels are satisfactory, you may be able to donate if you make another attempt.

Depends. I can donate plasma up to twice a week at a place nearby. They pay different amounts depending on the quality/rarity of your blood.
