He makes his announcements whenever he feels like it. In the past he would always take a break for year or two after creating a batch of games. But that was back when he was still getting his beer money from Taito.

How is there ANYTHING bad about buying a doujin game? Everyone knows the games can be downloaded for free, and most of the creators don't even go out of their way to try and stop it. I'm all for freedom of information and I have nothing against downloading shit for free on the internet, I do it all the time, we all do it all the time. Music will take the longest. All of the artwork for the game would take a while to get looking 'right' even for ZUN standards. (I quite like his background works) The programming will take the shortest amount of time purely because its boolean, it either works the way he wants it to or it doesn't. Easily rectify-able.
