Meanwhile, Toby Fox is going to get the world excited for the next chapter of Deltarune, no matter how long it would take. 17.5 Flandre is fine although the post above right in that she's nothing more than a tool for a character that has actual goals, Flandre x Machina if you will.
I'm not as upset about it, it's fine and the relatively uninteresting role Flan gets is slightly remedied by the good concept of how she works gameplay wise, since 17.5 has a lot of emphasis on collecting water for meter and that's a no go for vampires and Flandre plays off that, suck up too much water and she takes damage.

I was wondering why this thread had nearly 150 posts so quickly. Kinda sucks because while I don't care deeply for this game by virtue of being a former mobage, I'll always subscribe to the belief that if there's ever a valid one to make it'd be a rhythm game bringing in a whole buncha different artists. Toby collabing is really not much different to me than when Taiko no Tatsujin gets some songs or that time ZUN composed a really good piece for the Indie Live Expo a couple years back, though I'm happy to see he's able to have done work for three series he admires if only by virtue of being a westerner breaking into the eastern musical scene.

Actually now that I think about it, they've already collabed and met like three times, once at that very same show he composed for too. While yes, there are going to be plenty of shitposters, and yes, it's unlikely the minority of disproportionately loud secondaries and tertiaries will adversely affect the franchise, much less kill it, ZUN, by putting himself out there, is making himself susceptible to criticism.

I doubt this will be a big deal in the long run, but fans have the right to their opinions about this degree of endorsement for what originated as a gacha game, as well as whatever decisions he makes regarding the shmups. The thing with calculating money from sales is that it's hard, because even assuming the lowest of balls a LOT of money gets lost through taxes and cuts, and heavily depending on where he lives, and on top of that for a very long time (possibly even still?) he had a day job too long after Touhou blew up.
