Shido is such a good guitarist, I really don't understand why Sinsekai isn't leaning into it more. The 3 orisongs and 1 cover he has released since joining the label have kind of been overproduced crap in comparison compared with the guitar covers that existed on his channel before joining the agency.

That's how I really feel.

I am swamped in problems to solve and overwhelming thoughts, but when I watch her stream I don't care anymore and can feel happiness in the present moment.

She used to be very critical of her singing and think she made a mistake in many parts.
Now that her mindset is fixed and she learned to love herself, she listened to her singing later and found out she didn't make the mistakes she thought.

I really love posts like >>44128415 because even a post like this takes a lot less effort than watching a single stream. It's not up to me but I would prefer to have more posts like this in the thread. It could be favorite songs from an artist, favorite versions of a song covered many times, or just what anon listened to in the past week that he really liked.
To be completely honest, I may have also ignored a post like that in the past. I'm watching a lot less streams since leaving /vt/, and I don't really miss them either. It gives me a lot more time to actually listen to music. Of course that excludes special events, lives, and other things of that nature. There are only a few people left who stream with any regularity that I still watch. This thread seems to reflect that, and has become more focused on posting songs. And I feel like if I reply to someone who posts a stream here, there is a high chance that they actually watched it. I only say that as someone who was guilty of posting many streams I didn't watch to the other thread.
I won't be surprised if my seasonal recap looks a lot different come September.

To the mysterious girl in the picture who is clearly not azami, please come back with more weekly utawaku, I'll gladly put you back on my list of streamers to watch. Speaking of Azami, I decided against purchasing the tickets, since I only have 2 nights in Osaka. I'm not sure if I will regret it, considering my hotel is a 5 minute walk from where she is playing. But, the sales window is closed, so I should forget about it now. Unless they didn't sell out, of course.
Sometime within the next 20 hours or so, I'll get my email about the nayuta lottery results. I only applied to see the evening show, as it fit better into my schedule (I'll be traveling from Osaka to Tokyo that morning). Fingers crossed I get the tickets!
Also, I bought the ticket to see Somunia and Wotoha in Tokyo at picrel 2 man show. That was just a first come first serve ticket, so it was no problem to buy it.

Here's the thing. I don't have a problem with major labels experimenting with new artists such as ZUTOMAYO. Their fanbase naturally developed over time, similar to KAMITSUBAKI if that's what you're referring to. I'm against established utaite being lured into major labels then gradually losing their identity like Ado. I fucking loved Ado when she covered music that she clearly liked and fit her voice. It looked like her label was going to stick with her image with USSEWA but then they dropped shitty pop love songs in the mix. No artist retains their identity when lured into a major label. Well in the first place, I don't like most of Ado's original music, I just like her as a vocalist. But I think you are absolutely correct. Especially when it comes to UMG, Sony, etc. They have an established formula which they will stick to, because cash is king. It's not a hard and fast rule, like you mention Zutomayo for example.
I think Reol would be another decent example, and she's been around for twice as long. Both Acane and Reol get songwriting credits for a lot of their music. I'm just assuming here that this is a key to keeping control over their own sound. Ado is not really a songwriter, so she probably has less ability to control the direction of her music.
Artists' menhera aside, I feel like part of Kanzaki's departure from Kamitsubai was to remove the company label from the equation of his music. It's a risky move, but it's one that guarantees you keep full control over your brand.

I don't think everything is as black and white.
Avoiding big labels should be prioritized because freedom is the most important factor to enjoying what you do and this association risks making you hate what you previously loved.
But on the other side, if it can give them peace of mind and reduce their uncertainty, it could help them focus more on what they do and less on the management side of things.
It's all about making it work for both sides.
They just have to avoid the Luna/Sony situation with soulless suits destroying the artists.

As long as Ado enjoys what she is doing and can do what matters to her everything is alright and getting extra content should not be a cause for criticism.
I like many of her original songs. There is a reason they become popular.

Yes. The quality of lives is on a huge spectrum with multiple variables. It's why I usually don't like to pay beforehand. Break it into two parts, the audio quality and the video quality.
Audio quality: About as good as you could hope for from this. There were no noticable recording issues and the vocals and instruments were mixed nicely.
Video quality: The two screenshots I posted above were from AR cam and picrel is from venue cam. Right from the start, there are plenty of lives where you are basically just watching the screen (what the audience sees). This live gave you a nice mix of both cameras, but favorited virtual. Also, the AR cameras used nice sets with many varied shots.

It’s hard to tell whether Lita and Liz hate or love their fans. On one hand, the concert was amazing and you can tell that a lot of thoughts, efforts and passions went into it. They also performed free concerts every now and then. On the other hand, Lita never streams and Liz rarely streams for more than 1 hour. They only start streaming whenever some important events are around the corner or when they want to shill their merchs. Maybe they just don’t give a shit about the streaming side of the job and focus most of their efforts into making music. I just don’t know.

Or maybe my expectations are unreasonable due to being spoiled by my oshi too much.

KMNZ is from before the time when vtubers were basically expected to supply live distribution content to their fans. Early vtubing was not focused on streaming, after all. I think that it would be disingenuous to say that they don't care about their fans just because the streaming activities are limited. All the signs have always pointed to them sincerely appreciating the KMNHZ. They have, and I'm sure will continue to be, focused on their music (covers, originals, and lives). As you mentioned, we got multiple free 3d lives in the past year, and I also think they were some of the best produced in the past year as well. It's not the same thing as being in, say, Holo, where streaming activities have become expected as part of the gig.

As far as I can remember, it was mostly just radio shows, which originally started out on reality. I assumed you were talking about utawaku on yt.
As for the radio, at one point I think they even wanted it to be weekly, and I don't even recall if they made an announcement about how they would not be continuing that anymore.
Would you be happier if there were just more png talking streams/radios again? I mean, that's pretty much Kami's model for the vwp girls, except they sometimes use their 3d on stream.

You want to know what I want from kmnz? I want their static eyes to get upgraded. The thousand yard stare gets a bit tiresome.

I can forgive Lita for not doing utawaku as much as Liz, that's a personal preference thing, and the way she does it, well it's not exactly high effort content. But I can understand being feeling that Liz does more work when you see her credited for mixes on both her own and Lita's covers. Perhaps Lita is involved in different stuff in the background, I really can't say. Is there anything else you feel like Liz is doing where Lita is lacking?

I just don't understand Rene. She wanted to focus on music and that was the stated reason for stopping the weekly utawaku. But she's streaming as much as usual, minus singing. I just wanted a place I could talk about music more freely. I cared about Japanese music long before vtubers existed, so it got tiresome for me over the years. I was on that board since day 1 of its creation. Nobody has to limit themselves to one thread, but I don't exactly see the /vt/ thread as useful to me anymore, so I stopped contributing and posting there. You're welcome to try to bring more anons over here if you like, but I did cross-post it multiple times back in May.
Vtuber board is way too fast and it just becomes low quality posts and link dumps. It's only slightly better than >>>/vt/indie/ in that regard. And I dealt with that for a long long time. I'm not trying to shit on the anons who use it-- but at the same time, I'm glad this thread exists now. I obviously care about vtubers too, but it's exclusively limited to their music and music adjacent activities. Hopefully more anons come here over time, and we can keep sharing music that we like.

I saw when it was announced the other week on Twitter, but I remember looking it up at the time and assuming that it was not going to be streamed, which is why I didn't add it at the time. In general, for Japan only live events, it doesn't make sense to add it to the calendar unless it has a high chance of being streamed or another anon requests it.
