MV Marisa works perfectly fine. People get too hung up on stuff like speed buffs. She has a cooldown of 2 on two of her skills which combined with her AoE spell gives her the best fire breaking in the game. I think she also has the best general P gain in the game since all her spells also give her back a fixed amount + the 0.30 she gains every turn. Her slayers are also perfectly fine. She actually has youkai slayer for once.

If you want to seperate her from White Koishi, since that is the character people keep comparing her to, Marisa doesn't have a break for every status effect on her LW, instead of poison she is focused on fire, Koishi doesn't have a tier 2 buff for herself, Marisa can help the entire team gain more P and accuracy with skills, Koishi buffs attack and defense more, Koishi has more status effect protection, Koishi has better animation especially on her LW, Marisa is easier to power up since global lacks EFES dolls, Marisa has super high speed scaling while Koishi has defense scaling.

One thing I found helpful is to adjust the timing using the timing test. It set my timing to -10, and I managed to get them done reasonably quickly for me (about 30~40 attempts across all four songs).

Of course messing up the full clear does basically screw you out of the S ranks. That doesn't change, but the timing change helped me hit those notes.

Trying the strat of setting the base VS level to 60 but activating all of the extra rules to push it to 80. That way a single character at 5 cost can clear it. I need 2 more cards to get another max power one.

Lmao, git gud. A perfect "awesome" streak will give you 100% (and if you get no more than just a few Awesome (E/L), you can still have enough for SSS). You don't even need a full combo to achieve an S-rank as long as you don't miss in the middle.
And I second the timing tuning advice, it's basically necessary. Also don't start with Lost Word Chronicle, it's a song that's one level above the rest. If you're playing on an emulator, assign keys to the left and right sides (I use the arrow keys) and play using both hands while looking slightly unfocused at the center of the screen rather than tracking each individual spirit with your eyes. Spend some time to find the timing of a button tap where you get an Awesome, memorize, and perfect it. They come at you with different speeds even within the same songs, but you just need to remember the position of the little dude on the screen that should activate your neurons to smash that button.

you know what, this may actually work. You'll clear the stage in 3 turns and 3 attacks, which gives you more chances to get a card drop. It's also low sp so you can do it infinitely. Just get some op epic like blue koishi and make them a purple heart slave.

I got 2 total from drops. I feel like the drop rate is so terrible that it makes no difference. I don't have MV Youmu so me grinding level 100 would be really expensive. I'm not going to purple heart any character but that would be the strat taken to the max.

To compare, Black Yoom at least had the gimmick of her skills being separated into two words, one of them being "time," which gives you the hint that, in her backstory, she kept slashing through time and other assorted things that they've been near-permanently damaged. it's easy, after the reset you have to constantly spawn limited errands, ignore incense only errands, do GC and SC ones if available, if not just run the normal errands, I guess 30 minutes start to spawn after you complete around 8 or more normal errands, but if you are touching grass just pretend they don't exist

I remember the MV Youmu story being particularly esoteric; only Flandre's is similar about clearly being a trip to inner consciousness, in her case to the point you couldn't tell if she was being messed with by beings of other dimensions, her more draconian inner self or her subconscious crazy persona fragments. I think you got genuinely filtered because they chose to avoid go full exposition for once.
The story is not that hard to follow but you have to keep in mind that the characters in Ruins of Memories episodes aren't always the actual characters, like when she meets Komachi she is a 'guide' that resides in that space, or when Sakuya gets almost brainwashed by Eirin is left to interpretation if that actually happens, or if that Eirin is just a representation of her own inner confusion at her lost past and self, because in all these scenarios the Lost Word mastermind has stolen some concept, someone, or even the entire universe of that character and they have to rebuild themselves as if they went through an ego death.
I mean, even her LW is about her gaining enlightment realizing her true self, her other spellcards are memories of her everyday at the Netherworld, and the Yuyuko is a memory left by Yuyuko, said by herself in the character quotes
