...How so? You just use your controller, go to profile, go to key configure, select which profile name you're configuring the keys for, then input the buttons on the controller that correspond to how you want the layout on the controller. (e.g. square for A, triangle for B, etc.).

Good games, anonymous. Suika's black hole grab is a bit better than I initially gave it credit for, if you're really close when you start it up.

It felt like I kept failing 22C hjc7 j.2A as a cross-up oki assuming you roll behind me for tech. Is it actually impossible to land, or were you just predicting it every time?

>> No.4403457

>>4403016
Good games, guy.
Cirno got raped. She has changed a lot since 1.0. Guess I have to go to practice mode if I want to use her.
Your Marisa has gotten far more gimmicky since this morning. It'll work against those unaware, but since I invented all of them , it will take more than that to win in the long run. Missed gimmicks get you killed; it is the opposite of playing solid.

>> No.4403476

>>4403457
Haha, I'll try to tone down the gimmicks somewhat, but they'll still have a space on my movelist. If I read those articles correctly, even gimmicks like Marisa's broomride have a place in play, even if it's just to do something not expected like, say, fullscreen ice cars.

>> No.4403496

>>4403439
Not only is j2a extremely hard to cross up with that way: it's the easiest to react to, can't be followed up on block (bullets get grazed and broomride whiffs and gets punished), and if you guess tech wrong you also get punished for free. The only real good use for that is if you have a dragon meteor ready, but in coast-to-coast delay, it's not something that can be hitconfirmed.
In normal j2a combo situations, use jc instead of j2c. It homes into the opponent and hits more times, allowing you to use the proper followups.

Double broomride has been around since swr 1.0. It gets beaten by any bullet for free, and people watching for it can hit you with limit combo of choice. Also these kinds of tricks aren't very useful unless you have the spellcards to capitalize on it. Final spark, bomb, and easy harvester are useless.
The lumines skill card does everything broomride does, but better, stronger, faster, and safer, and has the same followups. AND it fires in multiple directions.

Ice charge seems like a decent way to travel across the screen quickly. The c version can be used on a read to catch moves on startup. What I was trying to do with 6c charge was time it so the 6c covered the charge, because I think 6c eats bullets when it's active. So I can move without being shot down, and on block, the c makes the recovery safe.

It's all right. Sakuya is always deadly to face no matter the situation. If I may point out something, you almost always used 5A 5A 5A 22B as your blockstring. 22A is the guardcrush I tend to abuse with Sakuya because it stops dash and jump-out escapes. Also, since I was all too happy to block, that's when it'd be a good time for you to segue into something like 5C hjc7 adf (i.e. 66) j.B j.2C adf j.B (reset). Using more 2B (instead of 5A) would also assist your blockstrings.

I'm just going to stop there before I break into serious walls of text. IaMP brings out my "fighting games, serious business" side.

You almost never want to run below 4 of a card.
You never want to run one of a card with one exception, Remilia's parasol on Remilia so she can go outside.
The average player only goes through 10 of their cards or so a match. Komachi has pretty poor card draw and most of her card use is reactive/situational. You'll just end up with erratic hands and a poor feel for strategy.

>Looks like too many alt cards. If you're going for versatility, just make a separate deck or two.

This was mostly just to find some skills that I like and practice with them. I don't particularly like her default skills that much anyway. I'm definitely holding on to Boat of the Sanzu and Soul-splitting Scythe. Scythe of the Reaper is kind of situational, I'm finding, but I like having a relatively quick attack with that kind of range, so it's kind of a toss up.

>Also, the alt 22 isn't all that great anymore, you're better running the spellcard, especially since it's buffed now.

I just might do this and switch back to teleporting. Honestly, I was only running this because I wasn't sure what was up with Taste of Death C.

>> No.4407992

>>4407966
It's just me, but Scythe of the Reaper is easily her best alt to me. It completes a lot of the option/combo holes Komachi can sometimes end up with, especially with the slow speed of 2B now. It's also stupid fast with retarded range and the density of a laser, the only guaranteed move after a j.8A hitconfirm, and you gain another air option(fuck yeeeeah). Besides, it looks cool.

>Honestly, I was only running this because I wasn't sure what was up with Taste of Death C.
It's a feint. If you're good at scaring people into overtaxing their brain with your melee range, you can feint it to keep bullet pressure going without leaving the ground(though you can really do the same thing with the new 2C). Won't work on mashers, though.

Still, for my first match against you it wasn't too bad. Alice is so much fun, probably because if I do good it's a pleasant surprise and if I do bad I can blame it on Alice being weird, rather than me being bad. Good games.

I dunno, we're not exactly at the same level of play, but as far as formalities goes: GGs. I don't mean to be rude, you just have some stuff to work on, like encounters/footsie, how to use bullets in effective play, etc. You were good at using the 623 special, though; many beginners find that hard, so it surprised me a couple of times.

It's true though. I screwed up my Tenshi midscreen BnB Every. Single. Time. I would have raged about it, but that ridiculous 5-card rock made me feel a lot better about it.

Anyway good games, your Youmu pressure is quite good, too, although I noticed you don't use rekkaken in your blockstrings very much, which top-tier players seem to constantly catch me with. 6C or 2B to encourage you try and escape, and then right into rekkaken if you take the bait. Anyway, in that last match once you started playing a bit more cautiously and watching out for the 6A you really started putting the pressure on me; that was a good comeback.

GGs, E-MAN, but must be getting some shut eye. Do believe I ate some of the stupidest shit during those matches. Like that one Sanae match where you activated that 5 card rainbow line thingy. Never know what to do against that card, but as soon as I HJed over you I knew I was screwed. Your Yukari needs a lot more 623B and a lot less flying into Utsuho 3A (air-unblockable, don't'cha know). I haven't seen a Patchy activate a gears card in forever. I'd much rather level 1 Static Green/Emerald City, personally. Same damage, less cards, just projectile instead of melee, but that's probably just a matter of preference. Thanks for the matches, sorry I couldn't make'em a little more even STOP WINNING WITH SLIVERS OF HEALTH LEFT!! ARGH!!

One of the aspects I love about our matches is the race to see who'll get their set-up alt cards first, especially during those first Sanae/Patchi and Alice/Iku rounds. Whoever sets up first wins! Got to apologize about that one Yukari win, but with the round that close, avoiding Okuu in Typhoon would've been more than I could handle. It was better just to beat you and send it into the 3rd round... where you destroyed me. Thanks for the matches!

Sidenote: My bad bout last week, some things came up (I GOT A NEW CAR!) so I wasn't home to get some Meltan in. This weekend, I know things will be just as hectic with me helpin my mom move to a new apt., but I need to get destroyed in some refresher matches with you.

I really love alt-skill decks, but sometimes... ugh... Any time I'm sitting on a hand of 4xStatic Green or 4xFall Slasher I just pray that my opponent doesn't notice so I can semi-safely clear my hand.

No worries about the Meltan, it slipped my mind too. Sunday is the only weekend day I have off, but you to find me in these threads.

Yeah, that's one of the few things that's hindering my Yukari (effective zoning and insta-66C as well). And Okuu's 3A is airunblockable? New news to me... I tend to stick with gears because they seem to work better up close, homing, and they eat up bullets better than her fireball. Now if I can just remember that I activated them in the first place, maybe my Patchi can maneuver a lot better... I don't have the patience to hold the swords in place, and I've never tried the default arrowheads since the patch came out.

Meant the 2 card spellcard gears, not alt 214. Alt 214 is pretty nice at times, but it was better before 12.3 when it could be used in air combos. The changes to j.6A and j.8A ruined that though. I dunno, I like Fall Slasher. Nailing someone with it is terribly, terribly satisfying. Thing is, it can't be HJCed making any set-up very, very risky, even when the opponent is knocked down! Default 214 is better than it used to be, but still not something I find myself using aside from the very rare 6A combo.

Blargh. Those matches were just embarrassing on my part. So many 6Bs... So many... Sorry I couldn't have been more interesting to fight. Tonight just doesn't seem to be my night. You do seem to be fixing your f.5A hit confirms, which is good, but you ate a lot of j.2C from my Patchy simply because I knew about when you would try to use it. Thanks for the games, 0rion.

Yay somebody finally joined! Good games Saje, it seemed like as those Alice v Patchy matches went on your got progressively better and better at finding your range and avoiding 6A death. You used that spring wind or whatever it's called really well to put me out of range and avoid corner pressure.

Also, I lol'd really hard at the end of that one Suika v Tenshi match where you caught me low on orbs and just laser beamed me to death out of nowhere. I saw you had that card was was completely not expecting you to use it that way.

I'm 12 and what is this.

>but you ate a lot of j.2C from my Patchy simply because I knew about when you would try to use it.

To be fair, I was getting a lot more spam happy than usual with the 5A / 6A since you seemed to be getting hit by it more than I expected. I thought it seemed strange, since I didn't remember catching you with that nearly as much the last time we played.

Was it you who I said needed to work on that? I forget. Someone I was playing previously would score a lot of random f.5As but not notice quickly enough to combo the 6A.

I won't make excuses, I did and do regularly eat a lot of those. I find Alice rather difficult as Patchy. Any attempts to set up a bullet wall are beaten out by 6B. Any attempts to approach are beaten out by 6A. The latter tends to work slightly better than the former, so Alice forces me into the position of attempting to play a rushdown Patchy, something I'm not very used to.

Save yourself some hating and drop the smilies. We don't do that here.

He probably meant that you held out a long session of play; or that you restrain from mashing, hyper play, continuely rushdowns, etc.

Thank you for hosting. I thought Patchy was a bit much for you and I don't like my current Suwako deck so I used Alice against you, I want to learn how to play with her, she is such a fun character to play with

That Youmu of yours is a bit unpredictable, it gave me a hard time

I hope I didn't bore you

I spectated some of your matches and maybe you wouldn't mind some help.

First off, an approach from the air is almost always preferable but not like your fly-to-the-ceiling-and-j2a faggotry. You can fly diagonally up and down. Try it!
Block on wakeup if the opponent is near. You are at a disadvantage here and everything thats not a reversal will be stuffed.
Your use of spellcards needs some serious work, a naked one will only hit if you can punish the opponent from some move with horrible delay or if you see a bullet coming. Alice could get some serious damage just by blocking or avoiding your spellcards and punishing. Use them in combos like 5aaa greensword or runpast5 or after counterhits.
I saw you learned some combos, but you fucked up a lot of them by doing 5b or 214 instead.
To get some steady pressure, you need to stop backing off after a blocked 214. It's true that you could get a boot to the face right after it but why would someone do this when there's another 214 waiting? As you may have seen the third 214 is punishable on block, so use it sparingly, when you know that they'll try to attack. After a blocked 6c, jump right into the offense to get the opponent into the corner. When you are able to do this, you can start to use high and low mixups and staggers which really help with Youmu. And by the way, most of your 5c oki failed simply because it was too slow, myon was too far away or your opponent really likes to mash out.

Zoning suwako is suprisingly hard. She can just come out of anywhere, and since it's so rare to fight a good one, I'm not even sure of where I should/can get out or counter attack.

I had some trouble myself in the corner, some really bad timing mistakes there, and then pikes up the arse. If you're in the corner against a Suwako, the trick is to lol I'm not going to spoil that

Shouldn't you ALWAYS try to block correctly? But yeah, just like Alice, her two first 5AAs hits low, and so does 8A, which I use a lot in corner preassure. As in most cases of escaping corner preassure, timing, stance and directions are important.
