To be completely honest the only edgy thing about Gengetsu is the "rape time" meme which is a fanon thing. It is hard to judge about her canon character from like 5 lines of dialogue she has, with Flan its at least a bit easier since she appears in multiple games and printworks. So people have different impressions of Genge. I have seen everything from "she is just a kid who dindu nuffin" to "she will rape you and your dog"

But I guess we found another thing that Flan and Gengetsu have in commmon: wildly varying perceptions of their personality

Since Mugetsu created the dream world i think it would be easy for her to change her form to whatever she wants (at least inside her world). That would mean that her boobs are real and not a fake.
Gengetsu probably has this power too, that could explain why she has wings while Mugetsu doesn't despite being her sister.

It's never actually confirmed either way, but I like to think that Muge and Genge's dream world is just Yuuka's back garden she made so they would stop bugging her, or they just moved in and Yuuka didn't care enough to kick them out.
Any reference of them owning it is just them acting up and pretending they came up with it.

On another note, how do you think the lake of blood ties in with Mugenkan?
Is Mugenkan underneath it somehow, on an island in the middle, through a portal on Kurumi's island thing?

If I were asked what I thought, I'd say that it's contained in the reflection on the lake, rather than physically under the lake itself. It just seems more interesting that way.

As said by Elly, Mugenkan isn't in Gensokyo but in the Fantasy World. In the middle of the lake of blood is an island with a gate (guarded by Kurumi) that leads to some place where the boundary between Gensokyo and this Fantasy world is.

The insides of Mugenkan are weird, we start in a long hallway that ends with a dark room (stage 4) but stages 5 and 6 look nothing like the inside of a house. So the Mugenkan itself might be more like a whole dimension rather then just a house like SDM.
In this case, the possibility of Genge and Muge just squatting and playing around somewhere in Mugenkan could be real.

Sorry, I ended up using Mugenkan to mean the dream/fantasy world as well as the mansion itself.
It's really confusing though, keeping track of all 3 terms.

I like the idea that the PC98 shooters (Not PoDD or HRtP) all take place in the mountains in the other direction of the Hakurei shrine.
I have this image in my head of distant mountains, with a huge stretch of land between the HS and them, and the idea that the farther you go out to the mountains, the less logical sense the terrain starts making, with the lake of blood being a medium distance between the HS and some point where the laws of physiscs break down to the point where you can't go any further.
I know it goes against the canon as laid out in FS, but I like my version better.
Besides, having Gensokyo being a recursive space just seems boring, does it not?
Having the HS and Human village be an oasis of normalcy in a sea of irrationality seems more fitting for me.

To continue our LLS discussion, what do you think is the context of the Extra?
Canonically it kinda comes out of nowhere. Reimu has no idea what she is doing there, Marisa says that she is just killing time. The game has no Extra endings so we don't know what happens after the boss battle. This is probably the only Extra with zero relevance to the game's plot.

The most interesting thing about the stage itself is the midboss. While not officially said anywhere, I'm pretty sure that this is Yuuka because she has similar attacks and also turns into a ball of light during her boss fight. This brings a question: wtf is Yuuka doing there and why does she give you an 1UP? Just a gameplay mechanic? Does she want to help?

I think one of the three options is what the Extra is all about.
a) It was all a dream. The Getsu world is a literal Dream World where you go when you sleep. Reimu and Marisa fight the sisters in their sleep and forget about it afterwards, dream!Yuuka is just their memory about the previous boss fight.

b)(This fits with the theory that Mugetsus world is a part of Mugenkan) After beating Yuuka Reimu and Marisa wander around Mugenkan and just stumble upon the twins. Yuuka follows them to see what they will do.

c)Yuuka sends Reimu and Marisa to beat up the twins for some reason.

The page with the character days (https://touhoucalendar.github.io/)) doesn't have it but I actually saw a few pictures on twitter and pixiv tagged with "Gengetsu day" so I looked it up.
Apparently it is the 2 of July because Gengetsu is the second boss of the Extra (7th stage).
The earliest mention of this that I found was in 2020 by some guy on twitter. But it doesn't look like it has caught on much.
