How do you like VNs using realtime 3D models?

To me it's not a question of replacing 立ち絵 don't get me wrong, but the idea of playing a proper VN (say something cute from Yuzusoft) with high quality models sounds pretty appealing.
I imagine that, unless you'd be recycling the same animations over and over, it'd be a lot of work to do and it's probably why only the biggest gacha games have the leisure to do this since the VN segments are not so long compared to most VNs out there.

I remember one in imopara2, I think with the blue, where the pussy sprite was this really thin horseshoe, so the cock would frequently thrust past it and clip through her abdomen. The reason most people think it'd suck is based on experience, but in reality there is no reason for it to suck.
Ultimately it's all dependent on the skill of the animators + having a good director who knows how to frame things properly.

A game like Koikatsu is a good example. Give it to a newbie and the result will be underwhelming or unimpressive sure, but there are content creators out there using it who are able to output high quality content.
It is hard work though and often said creators are financially supported by their fans. So in the end we go back to the skill & cost aspect.

The animation work is top-notch for umamusu but every 3D game in the VN format, it included, does that. There's no reason not to make a set of animations, maybe per character if you're feeling generous with your budget, and loop through them as if they were different 立ち絵 expressions.

Upon watching some more I do notice they include a noticeable amount of unique animations in ウマ娘 though which does make things feel very fresh and lively. So if you're to go that route it'd end up being a lot of extra work if we're talking about a VN that's at least 30h long.

I'll concede that some works may not strictly need H. An example of that is Key who eventually moved away from them since it didn't fit their style. But that aside it just appears that you personally don't get it based on how you're wired, and that's completely fine, you do you.
The point is that a lot of people out there do enjoy having this level of connection present in the VN. Psychologically speaking sex is a big deal and VNs give you the chance of exploring with many different kinds of girls through many different kinds of contexts and stories, on top of adding depth to the characters' shared bond. It seems so evident it feels strange having to explain it.

Ultimately we can perhaps agree that H-scenes in VNs can be hit or miss, and this is because it's dependent on how it's written, directed and how it flows alongside the story as a wholeーlike any other elements that make up a VN.
If it was up to me I'd almost never choose to entirely remove them, but instead to improve them. In fact I mentioned Key above but even in this case I'd be fine with them adding H again (say in サマポケ), as long as if it were good and fitting.

I fail to see the issue with heroines who have an online presence. The online world has never been as relevant as it is today. It's especially more so the case if we're talking about the otaku sphere of things, as there is a high amount of creators and a large portion of them happen to be females.
