Why is America drama better then all Japanese drama?

>> No.4382557

I watch As the World Turns with my mother.

I don't really have anything else to add.

>> No.4382550

Because Americans have emotions.

>> No.4382567

America sucks shit

>> No.4382566

Anime is much better than live action American shit.

>> No.4382579

There are tiers of shows in Japan, just like any country.
But HBO is god tier.

>> No.4382584

>>4382566

You are retarded? I was referring to drama as in live action shows, I wasn't comparing American and Japanese cartoons.

>> No.4382591

All drama is bad.

Dexter is the only current drama series I tolerate, and I'm 99% sure it shits all over anything in Japan.

>> No.4382613

Korean drama is best drama.

Drama is shit, regardless of what side of the pond you're on.

Dexter's starting to get a bit stale for me this last season, though it'd be interesting to see where they'd go with the twist ending. Other series I recently watched was Breaking Bad, and it was pretty much FUCK YEAR awesome throughout - can't wait for next season.

>> No.4383097

Dexter starts to get worst each season, didn't bother to watch it pass season 3.

>> No.4383128

Just because American dramas aren't as shitty as nip ones doesn't mean they aren't still shitty.

>> No.4383299

Densha was awesome. So was GTO. I don't know what you're talking about.

>> No.4383313

Does Densha get better? I watched like 2 or 3 episodes but I just could not stand watching how awkward the guy was, and dropped it.

>> No.4383316

The only current American shows I can tolerate are Dexter, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad.

>> No.4383323

>>4383313
You learn to like his awkwardness as it goes on. The highlight of the show were the 2channers though. It's like the internet personified.

What the hell are you smoking?

Season 4 was Season 1 material. The ending made me shit my pants in utter delight when I saw a dead Rita. Things can only get better.

>> No.4383365

>>4383345
Yeah, this last season was pretty awesome. Was not expecting that ending, now I can hope for Dexter fucking his sister, because I'm a fucking idiot.

His sister isn't hot.

>> No.4383400

Western cultures have always had a sadistic fascination with drama. Eastern cultures are (relatively) new at trying to copy western drama.

>> No.4383446

American drama isn't much better. The only American drama I've even bothered to watch is House, mostly because of Hugh Laurie, and even then he is British. I do like American sitcoms though.

>> No.4383482

>>4383365
Season 5 is dedicated to LaGuerta. It follows her daily work routine, her dates, her sexual activities, and in the final episode she finally kisses Dexter.

It will be the greatest season to ever grace television.

I just can't believe that bitch has lived for so long, she was axed in the very first book by Dexter's brother.

I stopped taking the books seriously when they had that stupid cult saga and Rita's kids end up following Dexter's legacy or some bullshit.

I don't really watch it for the drama, more for House's trollan antics. Though this season's opener was a nice change of pace in a quite a while.

Mad Men can get pretty damn fucking boring at times though, and I swear every woman on there is shameless slut.

>THEY STILL WATCH TELEVISION

>> No.4383620

I hate American TV shows because they always drag on for years and years with no end in sight. What I like about Japanese dramas is that the vast majority of them end after one season.

>HE THINKS TELEVISION IS SOMETHING YOU GROW OUT OF

>> No.4383676

1. The japanese can't act for shit.
2. The japanese can't write dialogue for shit. (This is why movies like Hana-Bi are good. No talking.)

These two combined make for awful television and awful movies.

>> No.4383678

>>4383620
That's definitely a good point, that they tend to drag shit on indefinitely since there's no direct source material. But still overall the level of acting and production values are tend to be superior to Japanese/Asian dramas.

>> No.4383730

>>4383631
It should be. Just like sports, and anime
