You can install it for free if you own Terraria on steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1281930/tModLoader/
For pirates, you can download from the website (https://www.tmodloader.net/)) and follow the installation instructions for the GOG version. I don't know if it'll work, but the server is not hosted over steam so theoretically you should be able to connect.

The current modlist features Gensokyo and Thorium mods as main content mods, with the usual QOL assortment aswell as a very recently released Touhou pet mod.

The modpack and instructions will be posted a couple hours before server start as I am open to suggestions for additions. Please don't suggest things like Calamity which don't mesh well with the basegame; Thorium and Gensokyo are the focus here.

If you tinker with putting in nuggets into the crucible, it will tell you what the result metal is. So add and remove nuggets until you get what you want in the right amounts. But really I got caught up playing the first episode of Doom 1 while testing. If you don't know how to use skins, make a folder where your zandronum exe is and call it "skins", then put the wads and pk3 files in there and they should auto load. Select your skin in the player options.

So I tried out some of the settings, and this seems to work fine. I'm pretty sure we had a bunch of mods installed, but i'm not familiar with that, so for now I can say that I was able to find copper fairly quickly, the minespeed is about right, and I upped the HP so people don't die so quickly.
I turned Temporal stablilty off, since it's more of a nuisance than anything else, but if you really want it I don't care that much.

I would gladly host vintage story again, leaving my pc running overnight if people need it, but would rather wait for the newest game versions and for that one mod by the create (THAT minecraft mod) dev team to be finished. It looks like it will be really cool and im pretty excited.

I once resigned myself to playing legacy barotrauma with a shaky 15, so even 30 for me is actually good enough really, although I can do a 60 without breaking the sound barrier.
Otherwise just turn down the settings from high/very high to medium, there ain't much diff really. Higher render distance is almost always worth it over better effects, if you know what I mean.

Probably.
Betterruins would eat up a little I think, although it ran fine for me when I had 16GB, so if you only have 8 then I could guess that it might be a lack of RAM. Open task manager when the game is running and have a look at the performance tab, if any of the graphs are going above 80/90% then that's probably the bottleneck.

I just ran the game for a while, and at medium settings it uses a touch over 8GB, but there are a few settings that could push that down a bit. It also uses about 1/4 - 1/3 of a 2060RTX, so make of that what you will. CPU cycles shouldn't be a problem either.
