Read Higurashi.

You want to see what that piece looks like?

giggle giggle I'm sorry. I can't show it to you.

But in that world, Rika and the gang miraculously beats their hardships and blast through fate to live past June 1983. It's a bit overzealous, so it's kinda embarrassing to show it to you.

"...But I'm sure that the piece that Rika will make will shine much more brighter. Even if she gets trapped in June 19th, 1983, that still will be a very bright piece as the end of Rika's one world. And no matter what kind of hardship stands in her way, if she could get past that, that piece will then shine even brighter. Because no matter what kind of story I make, the story that Rika makes on her own would be the most spectacular."

To me it's pretty obvious b y now that Bernkastel of Higurashi is another being different than the Bern of Umineko.

It was different, though. In Umineko, piece Battler can be influenced/controlled by Meta Battler, but does not possess the memories of Meta Battler. (Not when he's the detective, at least.)

In fact, you can't really treat Higurashi as a gameboard like Umineko. The way things worked there was that the memories of each dead Rika were transferred out by Hanyuu and placed in the Rika of a new kakera (in the process, overwriting that Rika's memories and personality). When the amount of memories started to become too great, and as Hanyuu's power started to weaken, they would accumulate in, for lack of a better term, Higurashi's "meta world", and only a fraction of them would be placed in each new Rika. Note as well that she decided in the real world to use the name "Bernkastel".

> Saikoroshi-hen wants a word with you bro.
I assume you're referring to the sound novel version, because the version that was animated only illustrated that the Rika of the kakera in which she won decided to consider herself separate from Bernkastel from then on, and didn't say anything about whether or not Bernkastel actually had the memories of that Rika, who used to consider herself Bernkastel but after Saikoroshi-hen does not.

Kakera #52

Nice, isn't it?

To say it like this.

That she received an advance of the miracle.

Very well, I wonder what I will play next.

Because there are as many kakera as I want that I can play with.

What?

You wanna play too?

*giggle* It's interesting.

It gives you the feeling you became god.

Like a world where Satoshi is together with them or a world where the Sonozaki twins don't change places.

I wonder what a world where Satoko's parents and Rika's parents are well would be like.

Aah, how would it be?

If Akasaka was seduced by Takano and went to the enemy side.

Ahaha, it seems interesting.

Personally, I have an interest in seeing a world where that Takano is madly in love with Tomitake.

It seems to be interesting to try and play pairing Keiichi with many girls.

I love fighting scenes.

*giggle*

Well, I wonder what I will play next. There are as many kakera as I want.

The game Higurashi tells Berkastel doesn't have the memories of Rika, but she can see the Kakeras of her. She knows that Rika, thanks to Keiichi and the gang created a miracle.

From Matsubarashi:

"You want to see that kakera?

Oh, that's what you meant. Well yeah, but being able to see something and being able to experience it yourself aren't the same thing.

Wrong. Bernkastel existed from the start of Higurashi; after all, she started out as the original Rika. And Lambda existed even before the events of Higurashi; she merely gave Takano some assistance.

Regardless, the Bernkastel of Umineko probably does use "Frederica" at times, going by the person the second poem at the end of Bernkastel's Letter is attributed to, and by the fact that said poem is used in Episode 6.
