The closed beta client is about 500 mb despite the impressive character models and shading effects. The somewhat low res environment textures are most likely the reason. Still, with a healthy dose of anisotropic filtering the game looks VERY nice.

Keys have been distributed through multiple mmo gaming sites such as mmorgp.com

It really sounds like we're gonna have to rush towards that guild level 4 come CB2.

Took me 4 days to hit the current level cap. The initial pace seems a bit slow but the speed remains relatively constant. There's no "Oh wow this is pretty fas--oh god the grind is killing me."
The quest dialog is by far the most entertaining in any free mmo I've ever played. The npcs actually have personality. It'll have you saying, "wow, this guys a faggot." and "haha, oh wow." Among other things.

There was a case or two where Kritz went a bit overboard and simply got his post deleted, other than the cases where he made a post then the thread got locked.

As a general rule though, I would really prefer members to leave the drama to other guilds (and they're certainly a great source of it), as anything else could interfere with our ability to take it easy.

Luckily, you're all awesome, and I never expect to have to use the guild kick ability for anything other than removing inactives for a spot for a new player.

Several boards have overlapping user bases, like /v/,/a/,/m/,/jp/ and some others. If the person isn't some annoyance that just came out of /b/, they'll fit in just fine.

This really depends on the person, most of the older user base are fun to play and doesn't deal in faggotry. But as with anything with a large user base, there's going to be some people that you don't want to play with. This isn't exclusive to /v/ either, the same could be said for any board here.

Also the mods on /v/ seems to really hate free MMOs. Those get 404'd far faster than they would here. You would have some random non video game related thread up for several hours with 200 posts while a free MMO thread would be up for about 10 minutes with 9 posts in it before it gets 404'd.

It's not a big deal even if you can't catch up, you can just learn as much as you can before everyone gets wiped for OB.

Level 30 only takes a few days and you can coerce a cleric into powerleveling you through the grind parts.

There are a fair number people in the guild who are a few hours of gameplay into their levels that you could easily catch up to with some effort (started in the last couple days of CB1). There will probably also be a decent number just starting when CB2 rolls around.

The level cap in CB1 was a couple/few days of work at most; it's quite a light load, all things considered.

There are an abundance of quests to help you level. As long as you do the quests as they come, you won't be grinding at all.

But if you want to make better equipments, that's when you'll need to grind for materials.

Just a passing thought before I go to bed: I think for CB2 we ought to retract the guild invite permissions, to avoid allowing any inviting of the wrong sort people.

For /jp/-ers who wish to join, have them post their character names in the threads, and reject all PM's who ask to join unless they have posted in the thread. That way we can be accountable as to who is one of us, and who isn't.

I was cautious at first when I saw /jp/ raving over this due to bad experieces with FTP MMOs and 4chan guilds, but both Aika and Hotglue seem pretty awesome. I might have to have a look at CB2 with you guys.

jbcs just made a general remark about the leader of the strongest guild being the strongest leader and some frustrated guy just started naming hotglue as being arrogant.
And of course people that got owned at the tournament all started to come out defending their subpar pvp skills by saying that leadership and pvp skills are mutually exclusive.
