Good taste. Kimeemaru is my favorite too.
Imagine if you also gave her an empty photo album too. She won't let you see any of her pictures. One day she brings the album to you and asks you to look through it. She stands with an aura of accomplishment and pride radiating from her as you take the album. Parsing through the album reveals it to be full of technically inept photographs with amateur composition. But all the pictures are related to moments she has spent with you.

Very hard to choose just one and I'd likely end up getting at least three
Reimukkuris are very cute and placid, great for taking it easy with
Marisas are little fire crackers and rather mischievous but I couldn't stay mad at them for long
Youmus... are youmus... why do they act like that?
Reimis are are that mix of playful and easy going that make them a great choice for more active people, its a bit of a hassle since some can fly but nothing the appropriate harness can't handle
Meilings are very easy going, more likely to nap but their bursts of energy can take you by surprise
Sakuyas are very meticulous and picky about their standards of living, though if you keep your house clean enough it would make them happy, they unexpectedly like being treated like a princess

I'd 100% want a Reimu, Meiling, and a patchy.
I want to take it easy with them

The metaphysical implication of Yukkuri in "real life" settings is a funny one to me. Imagine life as it is now with all the rules it operates on except now there are little talking critters made out of sweets that as far as even scientists can explain, are animated entirely by magic. Nothing about them should work the way it does, yet it does. This gets people thinking that magic must be real now but despite the best efforts of occultists and other magic enthusiasts, this does not seem to be the case. The only magic in the world is the one that is animating these critters.

Or is it? That's what the true believers of the occult constantly wonder now. Maybe the various systems of magical thinking that have cropped up throughout the ages have simply been wrong. Maybe it's up to the occultists of a post Yukkuri world to discover and create a new system of magic that does work. These critters are the key to discovering something greater, or so they think at least.

It's funny to imagine lone occultists and even entire cults trying to study and utilize Yukkuri in an effort to understand the laws of magic and find a way to manipulate that force themselves. On the dark side, there would definitely be Yukkuri ritual abuse going on but on the comical, there could be things like people trying to learn from the Yukkuri themselves. Schizos writing down all the little stock phrases they use and trying to understand the esoteric meaning behind them despite there probably being none. Raising Yukkuri of their own in an effort to glean something from their habits and behavior. Trying and failing at creating something new once they thought they figured out something essential. Maybe these aspiring wizards are destined to fail because the magic of the Yukkuri really is the only one that exists.

>Schizos writing down all the little stock phrases they use and trying to understand the esoteric meaning behind them despite there probably being none.
out of your lovely schizo post this point bother me. if there is something inherently magical about yukkuri existence their weird vocabulary MUST have a role in it. a mute yukkuri would have only a small fragment of their mysterious charm.

Just my two cents as an abuse enjoyer and I'm certain you won't understand, but real life abuse of cute animals can't be compared. It looks gross, messy, and it's too "permanent" if that makes sense. Yukkuri don't have any of those problems. The only real mess to be made with them is getting various sweet fillings everywhere. They can also withstand far greater torments and be easily repaired afterwards. This part is a matter of personal taste but I think material that focuses solely on physical abuse is stale anyways. Yukkuri have the capacity to feel psychological and emotional pain and unlike an animal, it can voice its dismay over it. Materials that take advantage of this are the best.

I'm not going to argue that it's not edgy though. It definitely is. I'm just trying to say it's not the same as regular gore.
