When I was in highschool I was neglected and isolated so much that I really did slip away from reality into a world of fantasy. Sadly it wasn't as nice as Gensokyo. I'm a boy so instead of dreaming about a paradise, I was in a post-apocalyptic hellscape where the only language is violent combat. And INTERSTELLAR TRAVEL... to other post-apocalyptic hellscapes. The primary reason for my existence in that world was to defeat an almighty world-easting demonic god, one who threatened to enter OUR world and destroy it. I hate this boring world we live in and really wish it would blow up, yet the appeal of being a superhero is far stronger. I'm sure any teenage boy would commit murder if it meant saving the world without a second thought. I'm a fucking hero, or something. After eliminating the threat I stopped being so absorbed in my fantasy and attempted suicide as a result. I fucking hate this retarded world and wish it really was destroyed. Please take me back to that hellscape. I had a girlfriend there. Even though I murdered her, I'm sure her corpse is better company than 4chan. Sometimes I wonder if I'm still there, and what's happening right now is all a dream of my previous life. But so many years have passed since highschool that it's hard to keep believing.

Hmm, reminds me a little of a dream a friend of mine once had. He was in a new body, new family, new full backstory, in some fantasy sci-fi world. He then lived 3 full years of life in this world before waking up.
Needless to say, it was very jarring and he even ended up talking to a doctor about it. He just shrugged the whole thing off, though.
