I don't if how much of JAV is included in this but what often happens is that there are certain places that either women are bound to go to such as host bars or whatever place they're bound to spend money etc.
What happens is that these establishments are designed such that you spend all of the money you have and they have some section in the building where they let you take out a money loan so that you can continue to enjoy the night or to enjoy future visits.
The problem is that these loans are not only run by Yakuza fronts/Yakuza partners, these loans have ridiculous rates and percentages such that it's intended you can't pay them back usually.
These loan places then send collections or someone else to talk to you and they offer you another worse loan to pay off that bad loan, and/or a way to make the money back in a way which either does/doesn't help you depending on their plans and that way to help pay back is by either becoming a hostess yourself or doing soaplands/prostitutions.
How this ties in to JAV is that (not 100% confirmed) is that some JAV studios use these women either as main stars or just hidden cam compilation shit while they're doing their prostitute work.
In that regard, Yakuza does have some control over JAV.
