For me it's PCB, just a lot of ressources and getting these ressources is easy enough, fairly slow bullets, not that many dense patterns with a specific way to beat them. Other contenders include
LLS: Good amount of ressources but the patterns are a little weird. Takes a bit of time to learn some of them or just get surprised by them and inevitably die. MarisaA melts bosses and can practically skip patterns, notably on Yuuka 1.
IN: Never really got this one, for me IN is average if not above average in difficulty across the 18 games. Not that many ressources since if you're as blind as most players you'll almost surely miss the 800/1100 1ups or get the former really late. Gets dense pretty early, criss cross is the bane of every beginner's existence, and bombs can go away quicker than you think not just because of lenient deathbomb but just because not that many of them are good and you're likely to screw up and use the worse one from your team at least a couple times as a beginner.
TD: Maybe technically the easiest on patterns, good game to consider just for that even if the low amount of ressources may make you think about keeping your bombs & trying to fight Seiga or some of Futo/Miko which can be hazardous, but it's for your own good, so to speak.
WBaWC: Absolute cheesefest with otter spirits. 4 strong bombs per life and given the speed on Normal, the long duration on Otter Hyper with 3 or more of them is really dumb, it's like a longer Supernatural Border.

It's the first game on a new engine so it'll feel quite different from 6-8, especially if you're used to the older hitboxes. To be fair, PCB and IN being as good as they are feels like an accident, since obviously ZUN is incompetent. UFO scoring is still fun despite the UFO routes being mostly fixed at the high end, and some of the execution and timing aspects of MoF are good even though it's optimized to hell and it feels like most of the gains these days are from lucky boss movement RNG. SA is my guilty pleasure "survival" game since the patterns are enjoyable.

I have a bad habit where I keep alt f4ing after I get hit before I reach stage 3-4 without bombing to get a 1cc recently, so not so good. Want to get a normal 1cc on SA but I keep chickening out and going to easy mode since I want to clear the game as each character. As much as I want to play through IN as each squad to easily collect all the normal 1CC's, I've gotten kinda sick of it. Attempting 7's Extra stage has been nice though, I love the stage theme.

I've been working on LLS for a while now, and since i'm a stubborn bastard who likes Marisa more than reimu, I insist on using Marisa A (which is also a crutch) for everything.
Everytime I get hit on stage 2 by one of those tiny little pellets you can't really see so good because of all the other shit on screen I just quit out of the game out of sheer rage.

Much like Reimu and Marisa, that answer can fluctuate depending on who is playing and the difficulty level they're playing at. I've always been in the Marisa/Kaguya camp myself when it comes to which ones I have more trouble with, so I wouldn't let it discourage you.
Best thing to do is just focus on what's giving you the most trouble and think about why that is so you get a better understanding of it.

MoF scoring is nice because of how accessible it is. It's the only Touhou game I've really tried to score.

HSiFS strikes a good balance, since even without too much grazing or even risky strats, you can get huge pay-offs, and the game rewards you with extends, so even casuals like me are encouraged to think about PIV and scoring. It's nice to have something to do during the early stages.
Tying scoring to survival really should be the standard. I hope we get more of that in the next Touhou game that goes back to the basics.

Graze is what differentiated Touhou from other shmups. Removing it is the most retarded decision from a scoring perspective.

That being said, I'd like MoF more if PIV didn't cap so early and easily, deathbombing decreased PIV, and dying didn't destroy all your scoring potential. It might be accessible, but it's actually the least forgiving game for mistakes.

There are 17 official mainline Touhou shmups. I think it's also important that they differentiate themselves from each other. I don't think every game needs to heavily feature graze.
(That said, I hope TH20 is a more normal game with grazing. It's been long enough.)

This is a good post. How would you fix/improve the scoring systems in your less preferred games, /jp/?

For SA, I love the patterns and general feel of the game, but I'm not a huge fan of timing out bosses and basically never even bothering with the PoC during the stages since you're autocollecting all the time. To make active grazing more interesting, the communication gauge should respond to individual graze for a set amount of time instead of just raising it as it constantly drains. Getting a burst of hundreds of graze in a short amount of time would fill the gauge instantly, but then after a second or two, it would also empty instantly. Continuous grazing would keep it steady at a certain level depending on the rate you're getting it. If the gauge is harder to fill, but has a much higher multiplier cap, maybe autocollecting items can start somewhere halfway to make it not too different from a survival standpoint. To allow the player to better control the multiplier at which items are collected, maybe autocollection only occurs at the PoC or if the player is focused. This would encourage attempting to spawn many items together, coinciding with active, unfocused grazing, before tapping focus to cash in before any items fall off the screen. This would extend to bosses too, where you'd want to make sure you get a huge amount of graze right before finishing a spell card, to ensure the dropped point items are worth as much as possible. The base point item value could still just be determined by the large faith items, and long term total graze wouldn't have to accumulate as the base multiplier, discouraging boring timeout grazing and making deaths have a larger penalty.

Thinking about it more, since resources would no longer be spent sitting on Parsee's face, scoring in many stage portions would be trivialized by SA's replenishing bombs. To discourage it, maybe power items could get converted to 100 or even 1000 PIV faith items instead of measly 10 PIV faith items when at full power, meaning wasting bombs in such a way would probably not be worth it for WR level play (but may provide a more accessible alternative routes to novice players that are just trying to get their feet wet). It may still be worth bombing stage 4 midboss Orin, though.

Is there something cursed about Lyrica in th09?
In most of my normal 1ccs I get the score extend from 70 million points, or at least get close. But with Lyrica I always game over at less than 50 million.
I've tried too many times with the same result to accept that it's just bad luck.

I lost hope of winning around stage 5 when I died twice to stupid shit, but managed to turn it around with some really clutch Youmu and Yuyuko performance. I guess I'll do SakuyaA next and move on to another game.

Why does playing pc98 improve my skill level at a much higher rate than the windows games? I swear I take a break to play LLS or MS for a bit and I go back to windows and everything feels easier. I've gotten 1cc's just by doing this.

To me it looks like it trains a different set of skills compared to the windows games. The patterns are simpler but faster, so you're forced to read them more quickly.
That's the reason I always recommend people to start from LLS (unless they're purists, in which case they should start from HRtP to find out how the series progressed). It's easy but it teaches the fundamentals very well.
