Then the grimdark shit I've always disliked. I never even liked Koishi's Heart throbbing adventure or whatever, Osana Reimu did it well though because it was sad but it balanced everything well. The zoomer shit can be funny (being a zoomer as well) but I've been wishing for many many years for people to really get into the games themselves, and I mean the shmups. They just don't have the spark for it, and yet if they did it could literally bring about a new age for the genre, incentivize ZUN to improve (not that he isn't), create better fanworks and maybe make it socially acceptable to discuss and introduce Touhou to normies. There isn't anything degenerate or overtly childish about the canon, like, at all (unless you cherry pick, you'll find like 1-2 things that remotely resemble weebshit)
But no, with the current path the fanbase has taken Touhou is literally THE cup of tea for unironic incels and degens. I honestly miss the days when we were still underground, at least then we had our dignity.

I think the worst offenders on that front are the people who just suck at writing good stories.
A couple are okay, but i've noticed in general some of the content (Not for touhou specifically, but same deal) likes to shoehorn stuff in where it doesn't belong.
You know, the standard CNN deal; Autism means you are disabled, Drumpf bad, troon shit, etc.

I don't care what your alignment is, there are times and places where that stuff is appropriate, and most of the places you'll find it it's not.
Especially the tendancy to overrepresent tiny groups of people, in the context of whatever it is.
I don't think I have to mention HGS, do I?

If you can write a genuine, honest to god GOOD character, where their sexuality, disability whatever it is, is both RELEVANT to the plot, but not the SINGLE THING THAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT THEM, then I really could not care less about what it is. People need to get it into their heads that the best characters for stories are very much flawed, and not mary sue doitalls that pull bullshit outta their ass with the power of friendship.

This is more of a general rant on media, but I think it's still relevant.
I liked OR though, it did do the violence it did have well, and not just for the sake of it.
The main takeaway is that you need a solid premise to work with first, and that's not something you can wave away with dumping all the shit other stuff has into it.
Good writing is universal, in that you can either write a good story or not, more or less independant of genre.

I think you're overstating just how many degenerates there are in this enormous fanbase. Horny posters and obsessed waifufags are loud by nature, just look at the god damn catalog. They just seem like the majority when they drown out more down to earth fans who enjoy the series for what it is.
