If it's an option try to go with EMS. I've tried it after DHL and it directly sent it to Canada Post which leaded me to (apparently, in the 2-3 times I've used EMS) not pay any of my country's import taxes while also being easier to track since there's an app for Canada Post. Let's look into the moral part of it, here are my considerations about it:
Anyone who buys something to sell it later at a higher price is a reseller. They're not always bad.
Scalpers are a particular type of reseller who buys as much as possible from an item with limited stock (thus forcing people to buy from them) and tries to resell it as quickly as possible at a huge overcharge. They do deserve death.
Regular resellers buy stuff that's largely available (like fumos nowadays with their limitless preorders) and try to resell them calmly and with low overcharges. Their service can sometimes be useful when the item becomes eventually unavailable from the original seller, or in this case for people who missed the original presale.
Resellers who sell fumos which came out until a couple years ago, when amiami sales were limited, are probably scalpers. Resellers who sell old V1 fumos or fumos which came out during the presale era are not scalpers, and I personally have no issues buying from them.
It's up to you to recognize the type of reseller.

I want to start fixing up my Youmu's swords or maybe even make new ones because they are in terrible condition but I've never worked with fabric before and I have almost no idea what to do. Nah, sorry for assuming you were used to buyfagging, but the best way to buy from YJA is through a proxy. Buyee is great for searching stuff cause it's well integrated with YJA but, for actually bidding and buying stuff you've found on it, I recommend using zenmarket or fromjapan, the former has cheaper fees and the latter has more protective packing (usually not necessary with fumos, though).
