i have more experience than the average anon, but i am around that age.

I started watching anime with Tranzor Z back in 1984, after that Robotech, took some years to discover Ranma 1/2 in 1994. As for games I had Pacman on my Atari when I was about 8 years old, moved on to Mario, Final Fantasy, and Dragon Warrior on NES. So I guess I'm an older anime and japanese video game fan

hoho, my first exposure to anime was Iria the animation on Sci-fi.

I started with Tekkaman Blade when I was a wee lad, saw Macross right before they launched macross, then saw the usual fare. Tenchi muyo, gundam wing, outlaw star, etc.

It started with My Neighbor Totoro around 95 and was a snowballing effect from then on.

I still haven't actually seen any Macross except for one movie that I watched through the halfassed scrambling they had on the premium channels back in the day, so I still haven't actually "watched" any part of it.

Back in '99 I was a huge DBZ otaku. Collected everything I could get my hands on.

The infection had long since taken hold. I had been playing RPGs and watching dubbed animu (all I could get, faggots!) for years by then.

First anime was Dagger of Kamui a long time ago on VHS. Watched Gunbuster, Bubblegum Crisis and Appleseed at a neighbors house. Then nothing for a long time until Viz released the first Ranma 1/2 movie.

I was in a coma for most of 1999. Car accident.
