Unironically read western fanfic (DV and more extreme joseimuke SM is nowhere near as popular on pixiv as it is on ao3 in my experience). If you’re at the stage I’m at then vn is pretty much dried up when looking for that kind of character. Just look for series with dad/dead wife characters or oresama/very arrogant characters and look them up on ao3 with tags like abuse/rape/DDDNE and it’s a literal goldmine if you don’t get triggered by omegaverse/trannies/cunt boys. Knowing moonrunes was essential if you wanted to play (and enjoy in my case) just about any otome games before 2019 because almost nothing got localised. Or any non N+c BL. Also good if you have weird niche tastes since games like Shitoku will never see a non MTL translation.
I wouldn't say learning it is easy at first but once you hit a certain point it's not really hard either. But it's been so long for me, maybe I'm rose-tinting it. Anyways, thanks for reading my TED talk.

With how moderately decent MTL can be nowadays, it's probably not too bad to use it as a gateway to actually learn the language properly now. Things like ChatGPT and Sugoi can be quite useful for crosschecking with your own interpretation and getting the general feel at the beginning. The big picture is to not be too reliant on it eventually down the road. But yeah, first steps to learning is always the hardest and most demotivating, especially if your naive language has very little in common with Japanese and you don't particularly have a strong motive to learn. It definitely gets easier later on.
For me, it was finally finding a character and the VN associated so magnetic, it simply became an obsession.

For Kirikiri, I use a Chinese tool named xp3viewer. You just drag the games .exe and it automatically extracts everything, text, bgm, sprites.
For choudoku, you need to fix them on photoshop. The expressions are in different sprites so they be looking like picre.

Well, Yosuke's my favourite P4 character probably, but his design was admittedly so-so as far as official art goes (he looked alright in some official art and maybe some sprites, but in a lot of pieces he wasn't looking too good for sure).
However, I'm not really into the way any dudes look in P4 and P5 official material (Akechi's popular as hell, and yet he looks like a fucking loser in his sprites and not in a cute way, though hus smug smirk from Royal is actually pretty good), but doujin and fanart for them is cute, so I'd say it's not probles of design itself as much as the way the design is executed, I guess? Although Akihiko looked pretty alright in game, so I can't pinpoint the problem with P4 and P5 exactly.
Personality-wise, Yosuke has plenty of annoying moments really, and I actually expected to dislike him when I started the game, but his Shadow kind of made an impression on teenage me (his conflict is fairly easy to relate to, I suppose) and also established that I'm going to like this game for sure and he was a pretty solid aibou who had his smart and stupid moments.
