There is something to be said for Pants Yuuka though, maybe it's because trousers are a little more revealing of her bodyshape, if you know what I mean.

On another side note, which one of her themes do you like the most? I'll allow remasters and remixes, so long as they are clearly recognizeable as a variant of the original.
I like Sleeping Terror the most, since it gives such a dark and forgboding vibe, before bursting out into a fairly lighthearted melody. Perfect for Yuukarin, in a way.

It can be a little annoying to find remasters of PC98 songs that sound good, as much as Demetori did a good job, I tend to find metal remixes drown everything out with dums and guitar that don't really follow the melody all that much.

I feel a little bad for posting the same images as I do in every thread, but my image folder is now like 10GB large. Not humungous, but enough I don't want to keep finding more like I used to for every new post.

I said this in the last thread as well, but I find Yuuka to be such a good character in general, especially in LLS and MS.
She has just a perfect level of mystery, her themes are one of the best (Of all touhou songs, not just in the pity pile of PC98), and her personality is both hilarious and slightly terrifiying, which is how a Youkai should be.
Yuuka was made back when Youkai were generic, and not constrained by a particular origin/species. As a result, I think it allows a little more freedom in interpreting her, compared to some of the newhus which are taken straight from jap folklore tales. Not to say they are bad necessarily, I think IN had the right idea in interpreting the bamboo woodcutter, and LoLK and to a lesser extent SA were good for not adhering strictly to the original tale, at the sake of making a good character.

What i'm getting at here is this; There will never EVER be a character like Yuuka Kazami in fiction again, she's just too perfectly fitting of a niche role.

PS: I think you can hear the "youkai" side of her in Sleeping Terror. That weird up-and-down motif in parts of it really gives me a connotation of reality itself being warped a little, which would make sense since this is her dream world.

Yuuka's height is a massive topic of contention, some say she's a little under 5'11", some over 6'8".
It depends on how you want to see her of course, since it's a lot easier to be scared of a giantess who can punch rocks in half than a fairly calm woman who doesn't really seem all that imposing on paper, but you get an odd air of malice around.

Bearing in mind that Gensokyo is a timewarp to the late 19th century, where nutrition wasn't the best.
Yuuka being a few thousand years old isn't explicitly stated, but I think it's in the realm of possibility. Yukari on the other hand I think is only around 1200 years old, although maybe as much as 2000. Either way, I think Yuuka might actually be older than Yukari, and in her time people would have been a whole hell of a lot shorter still.

I would think Eirin and Yukari are about identical, but Eirin being just maybe half an inch taller would be enough for a comedic kind of rivalry, where Yukari is trying to compensate for it, and Eirin's too lacking in common sense to pick up on it.

But I still stand by my previous theory that pre-Gensokyo Yuuka was physically taller and stronger looking than she would have needed to be to just strike fear in a human, due to predator-predator competition between other youkai, and she never bothered to change her appearance after it stopped being a part of her survival strategy when she became powerful enough to not have to care about such things.

I don't think every song benefits from having electric guitars, in fact the opposite is usually true, it and drums tend to drown out the main theme a little much. Maybe that's due to bad mixing, but I think that I prefer classical instruments a little better for this kind of theme.

In single player she's good enough. I'd rather play her than someone like Sakuya. Her slow movement holds her back every now & again, she can't get away as fast as you'd want and so she spreads the amount of bullets too much, I find it easier to corner yourself with her if you're not careful. Still her scope is good so she can play the game. I got a Lunatic 1cc with her, and I think she's okay in MS (Only got this one on Normal but I don't have Reimu or Marisa cleared, only Yuuka & Mima), despite the claims I had heard. She's no Mima but I was bad at getting the collectibles to begin with so only get 3 Extends from them didnt change much, and she's not THAT weak for a spread shot.

Yeah for a spread shot, in the grand scheme of things it's pretty good. I think most of them are more hit than miss in other games with at best only a decent performance once you know what you can shotgun, if the spread shot is good for shotgunning. It just isn't helped by everything around it more than anything. MS Bombs aren't too impressive in general and slow movement is maybe at its least desirable in MS out of every game in the series.
But still, for a somewhat unanimous worst shot in the game I still find it very far away from a DDC SakuyaB/MarisaA or some solo shots in IN.

That's an RPD.
It's actually belt fed from that container drum, and has literally nothing in common with the Kalashnikov system, other than being gas operated.
You can tell because of the front grips look like they are screwed together, and of course the container drum. Fires the sane round as an AK (7.62x39mm) but other than that, entirely seperate. Used for squad-level machine gun capability, replaced by the RPK in the 60's, which is just a modified AKM with a longer barrel, bipod and slightly longer, strengthened receiver.
