How do I deal with such discouragement?
Everywhere I see people utterly destroying the final boss and its whole fleet by themselves, without FF. Even some who take their shipwives to flagship position, denying themselves of Touch, and still they score kills. Without FF.
Meanwhile me with a correct setup and FF assistance, still can't do it.
Just feels so miserable, having played for 6 years, only having 6 medals and still being unable to raise the count. 2 of those were basically pity given too (that one Hoshimochi map and Scamp), probably don't count.

Do you notice anything similar? Yes, they have all married ships at 175 or close to it. You'll also notice that they all have Luck stats that far surpass their initial score. Surely you see this when you visit zkms and kiton's pages.
Hard is balanced around doing this.
If you want to consistently clear Hard, marry everyone and bingefarm Maruyus to feed them. Doing some ranking for duplicates of unobtainable gear would help a lot too. Unless you're in Hashirajima, in which case I'm really sorry.

Since we still don't have an end date, you can plan to attempt e5 for the boat and still have time to consider whether to drop down after the end is announced. E2 is the real bottleneck, E4 is actually easy not just meme easy, and even if you get stuck at the last boss of E5, it's just E6 after that. E6-1 and E6-2 aren't bad. There's a possibility of more friend fleet upgrades, too.
