E-5H learnings:
-You really do have to rank your planes. I was stubborn and tried to clear with unranked planes, but CVCI just doesn't have the damage otherwise. Chevrons were the difference between 4 healthy bosses every time and 2 chuuha bosses going into night battle. Just F5 to victory.
-I cleared with NagaMutsu but I think 4CV is also viable as long as you rank your planes. If you choose 4CV, I would consider NOT putting a BB in the main fleet (escort is fine), despite both ZKMS and Kiton recommending otherwise. That second round of main fleet shelling at P killed a lot of runs. With a full sparkled fleet and double support, I got to the boss on 13/15 runs with 4CV and 6/13 with NagaMutsu.
-If you are running NagaMutsu, you probably need all LBAS on the boss to maintain AS without gimping CVCI. If you're really struggling with node P, 4CV might be able to afford one base of Toukais to P and no oASW in the escort fleet.

The sub loli is actually only the 117/137 torp versions, which is the same as a flag So. It's the carriers that actually cause most of the retreats, which means it's not really any different from any other sub/carrier node. Yes, it's by far the worst node on the E5-3 route, but given that you can roll the 1-carrier comp even on LD, and it's always elite and not flag, I think it's actually better than E2-M which locks you into the double flag comp.

I was really struggling with what to commit to E5. If I used 4CV, then I thought it would be best to use SoDak on escort for the historical damage bonus. But she also has a bonus for E6, and I've seen her used on both maps to great effect. I see you don't have her on escort so it's doable without her, yes?
Considered using Yamato and Iowa in E5 too. I'd have the E2 Yamasashi to use in E6, but even if I make sushi fast I'd still get penalized with an extra node because of bringing more than one Yamato, so Iowa for E6 would be a better Touch helper. In theory, because the power would be lesser.

When I was running 4CV, I had SoDak in the escort fleet because I have 3 of her, but you could just replace her with another TCI DD (or even another FBB but boss damage might be lacking). I was running unranked planes with 4CV so I can't definitively say how effective it is, but no BB in the main fleet improves your chances of making it to the boss.

That's what I've been using, and it's fine from both, AS and touch power, but I'd recommend that you wait for FF, since what bothers me the most about this fleet it's too irregular due to the RNG with the meatshields, and the route is too annoying with this fleet, at least in LD.

In all honestly, if you used Yamato and Sushi on E2, then it's fine to use Sushi in E6 too. You just have to go through one extra air node.
There's also leaving the fleet slow, which greatly increases its power as you're not wasting boilers on Sushi and Fuumi/Furei, but that extra node you pay for this can mess you up (it's another subloli node).
