Host families sign up with the understanding that they are supposed to be understanding, respectful, and warm to those they accept from abroad.

Having your home-stay family treat you like shit is not what you pay to go abroad to study with. If I wanted to be treated like shit, I'd go to a slum tenement house. Granted, home-stay families don't get paid a lot for their hospitality, but they are the ones that OFFER to do it. It's totally volunteer.

If you're going to voluntarily accept people from foreign countries to stay in your house and learn how to coexist abroad, then it behooves you not to be a terrible person and treat them like shit.
