You tap attack button and it locks onto the enemy and you have to keep tapping. Normal attack charges MP which you can use to cast magic with an AoE indicator like you are the bosses. There is a dash button but it doesn't seem to have i-frame.
Don't know what partner and assist girls differ yet but they just follow you around and it looks really bad because there is no model collision and you all end up at one spot when fighting the big robot. Tutorial and login give a free SSR card that allows your partner to launch a super finisher attack so that's probably what partner is about.
