Kirei's character makes no sense. In Fate/Zero he essentially becomes aware of his shadow, but there is no way he became a priest, become educated in so many fields, achieve the physique he has, learned martial arts without experiencing the urges to, what, slack off, drink, murder, rape, etc. and learning to get over them if not integrating them like the jacked, educated christian gigachad he is.

So why is the writing of Fate so poor? And why do so many people still like it? I watched Fate/Zero back when I had yet to developed a proper taste in anime and even then I disliked it, along sides the 2006 Fate/stay night.

If you're confused about the whole shadow part, in short it's the part of ourselves which we repress, so the urges to rape, murder, etc. Jordan Peterson has some lectures on it, there are also some great writings on it, as well as on integrating, embracing it.
