It depends on what you want to convey and the words used. There are also cases where the particle is optional. If you're starting out then most likely you're dealing with short sentences that are straightforward in structure and have very simple grammar. You'll pick up correct particle usage as you study, and basically every single Japanese grammar guide or textbook is going to gradually introduce you to how the various particles are supposed to be used.

these old おとぎ話 cartoons are some of the best beginner immersion I've found yet
- aimed at kids but doesn't hurt your dignity to watch
- well made and look good, plus it's old so you can pretend to have cultural hipster credit
- not much silent time
- there's often a narrator redundantly describing what happens
- strong japanese cultural immersion element too if you care about that, since they're all old mythology type stories

I can hand write, you need to learn the stroke order of the most common radicals and some basic rules and exceptions, it's not hard at all like they say but it's not that useful either, I would only recommend it if you have time to spare. It's not going to look pretty but learning stroke order is more important for hand write than the other steps, the other space is called balance, do yourself a favor and just forget about it.
That said, typing is a much better and useful skill to have and it's faster, try a IME and learn how it works, 99% of japs use the standard qwerty keyboard + IME, it's a tool that let you type in hiragana and you can convert it to kakatana pressing f7, tab for manual search and space for autocomplete (if you use microsoft ime)

there are two general routes people go as far as I can tell
1. SRS with isolated kanji, with wanikani, kanjidamage, or something like that. You learn through rote memorization the kanji itself, a keyword, minimal relevant readings, and maybe the most common word with it. Do this for at least a few hundred kanji before trying to read anything.
2. Learn a small amount of vocab through rote memorization, the bare minimum, and immediately start immersing on content you like. It'll be painful at the start when you have to look up 5 things per sentence and struggle with grammar. You learn kanji on new words as you go, gradually, probably with added mining.


I attempted both at the start but ended up on #1 and I like it better. When you do read you can infer jukugo meanings like 80% of the time and it speeds up things a lot.

Isolated kanji study is a waste of time (I've done RRTK at the beginning). Literally just learn words, the best way to go about it is first doing a core deck and then mining your stuff. JP1K is quite good if you only watch anime (I've gone through it myself), but for a more solid base (especially for VNs) I'd suggest Anacreon's Core 2k.
