A spare life with bombs should cut it close. Maybe just a spare life depending on how late you die going into that spell. Hopefully you're not finishing off Scarlet Meister while a bomb is in effect; you'll miss out on cutting off about a fourth of her health.

1cc perspective:

UFO > SA > EoSD > MoF > IN > PCB

Lunatic
UFO > SA > EoSD > IN > MoF > PCB

It can be a little difficult to kick off SA runs but the trip eventually steadies out and becomes easier near the end. EoSD on the other hand will probably stop with score extends (all four of them) entering stage four, and then it's an uphill battle with not much extra aid to look forward to. SA is still more prone to restarts.

Lol no. PCB is a joke. You get a free bomb 2-3 times every stage that also comes with invincibility for a few seconds. I almost 1cc'd it on my first playthrough. IN is fairly easy due to the deathbomb, but the later stages are pretty challenging (Stage 5/6 are MUCH harder than PCB, don't try to tell me they aren't) and the time system is difficult for new players to grasp. MoF's power system is very unforgiving until the later levels, and that's only if you can successfully beat the non spell cards without bombing. Otherwise you will usually draw dead and wind up taking a life. Couple that with the fact that the system is score based, and that it relies on grabbing free falling powerups as well as dashing to the top to auto-collect as well as the continue system, and you have a game that is much harder than the latter two.

MoF is only so high due to Kanako's final spell card. Fuck that thing for penalizing my death bomb reflexes. I'm better off just sucking it up and taking the death. Also, only picked up UFO last night. It'll probably be easier after I have better UFO collection patterns and more experience with the new shot types. Overall, it doesn't seem too bad.

I actually had a harder time with PCB than IN. In IN I played as the Magic team, so I didn't have to fight Marisa, which meant that the only real threat was Eirin. In PCB, I would lose lives by doing stupid stuff against the Prismrivers, Youmu, and Yuyuko.

That happens everywhere. Well, after playing PCB for a bit (and giving IN less than one-fifth the treatment) I conclude that PCB suffers less from wall-in shit and moderate-high difficult attacks. On Normal at least. All the extra lives and borders it throws on you are just bonus.

Haven't touched it in a while but cleared it a while back with Mima only. The stages don't change so much that you're encouraged to actually form a route. Boss battles are mostly short-lived and intense attacks.

EoCD is the only game that I've been able to 1cc normal mode with every character. Seriously, I'm even having trouble with Cherry Blossom, but I can do EoSD no problem. I always assumed that made it easier.

Stage 5 is overhyped, really. Maybe at higher difficulty it's the embodiment of rape, but on normal it isn't bad. You can just stay bottom/center on Orin's first exploding zombie fairies spell card and graze easily enough. I actually find it easier than herding them and firing when they're clear of Orin. Honestly, I lose more lives on stages 1-3 collecting power ups than I do in the last 3 stages.

On a further note, while stage 6 is easy, I find it to be one of the most fun stages in all the Windows Touhou games. Seriously, amazing stuff.
