You may want to change your mind. Demonbane is Nitroplus' proper Mythos tribute. The plot is as thus: Nyarlathotep is attempting to wake up Azathoth. About half a dozen people have their own gambits to benefit off of the events in motion without the whole "Azathoth wakes up, game over" part. Are you a bad enough dude to save everything?

If it's the latter, you should try Demonbane. As far as I know, that's the only other Nitro+ VN that's about Cthulhu mythos.

I just don't really get this. The writing just isn't bad. It's not fantastic. It's not what I'd place in my list of favorite authors. But it's still a far cry from bad. It's absolutely above the average young adult novel, which is more or less what FSN is (minus the sex).

Nasu is a better writer than fucking Stephanie Meyer, or even JK Rowling, at least, although she's also someone who's much better at worldbuilding than at character development or subtlety.

However, the mythos (not just as Lovecraft wrote, but as it has been imitated by many other writers) is about suspense and horror of the unknown. It usually follows relatively ordinary protagonists that learn that the true cosmic horror behind the universe.

Regardless of what you think of Saya no Uta, it follows the formula mythos story to a T. Demonsbane references lovecraft, but it is a giant robot melodrama. Stylistically, it's the complete opposite.

Demonsbane is great, like I said, but to call it a more proper mythos tribute is hilarious.

Anyway, Demonbane's Azathoth is sealed off instead of inactive. Nyarlathotep wants to unseal Azathoth, but can't do it personally due to Elder God interference (hence why I said Mythos, not strictly Lovecraft. Enjoy your sparkly good deities. ) so he sets up a very, very lengthy chain of events to make it happen. Shit stronger than Nyarlathotep obviously do exist, the main hero (eventually) becomes one after messing with every other party in on the plan. He pretty much gets relegated to the position "Nyarlathotep janitor", where he runs around making sure Nya doesn't try to shit up every universe at the same time again. There are worse jobs I guess, and he's good at it.

There are a few versions on PC, but none are translated.

The English version is only available in DVD format. It's a bit frustrating to use, but still manageable. It also doesn't have any sex, in case you were wondering.
