Try the singleplayer games first.

Playing without knowing what you do is not only frustrating for yourself but also for your opponents, a player that left because he couldn't ron for his no Yaku hand or because someone ron'd his discard just kills the whole fun for everyone.

Usually, a game lasts around 30 minutes, so please, if you're not going to stay until the end, respect the other players and don't join a new game.

Also keep in mind that Mahjong is more a game of "not losing" than straightforward winning.
Furthermore you play with 3 other people and luck plays a big part in it, so don't expect to win more than 1 out 4 games, especially not as a beginner.

Welcome to mahjong where if you have LUCK:99 you can win almost every games.
However to consistently win without your luck hax you need to know what you are doing.
The key difference between 3p and 4p is the ease in making huge hand in 3p.
3p is nice for a quickie while 4p is a grindfest where people take their own sweet time discarding random tiles.

I really don't like playing against some people. That 2dan player is on the same level as gotmoney. Has really no control over what's going on, presses the riichi button as if it was a " you win" button when everyone else is clearly in tenpai with huge hands and depends solely on luck to win games.

Pei x# are nukidora.
Because there is no player seated in North, the Pei (north) is used like this. It counts as additional dora, but doesn't influence the yaku in your hand (chinitsu, tanyao etc. still possible.)
If xia is the dora, nukidora count twice.
A red 5 as dora indicator is the same as a normal five.

If you "kita" (set aside a pei) and win of the next tile, it counts as rinshan kaihou.
If someone else "kita" and you ron of his pei, you don't get chankan or something like that.
"kita" also destroys ippatsu or double riichi (the current go-round was disrupted). I don't know if chihou is possible after "kita".
