The first thing I properly immersed in with the intention to fully comprehend it though was Yotsuba. I had this issue before and it was just the way that anki assigns numbers to new cards breaking. Sort by creation date, select all cards, and then reorder them, then hit the check database button and sync. That should fix it.

This tends to happen every time I do some reviews on my phone so I make it a point to hit the check database button when I get back to my desktop.

it's more like every time i see or hear or smell or taste something i dimly become aware of lots and lots of similar experiences i've had and if i choose to move my attention to them i can freely up and down any tree or cluster. i don't try to consciously organize my experiences or correlate them it just happens on its own in real time. i try to appreciate it but at the end of the day i don't know what it's like to operate otherwise. i will probably lose the ability in my 40s as my memory wanes and my cognitive function decays and then i will truly know the difference

I only write this retarded wall to dispel the misinformation I've seen in this thread about going to teach in Japan. Please keep scrolling and don't respond if it doesn't apply to you.

I got on to the Jet programme this August and returned home in December. I have more or less erased the experience from my mind, the BOE treated me like shit, and the school treated me like an idiot even though I was a qualified teacher from the UK with 5 years of experience, shitty apartment and area, had to commute 1 hr and a half out to the middle of nowhere to the schools, schools wouldn't let me leave early even though there was only 1 bus an hour had to waste an extra hour every day doing jack all, I am a high school teacher but was put in primary school doing mind numbing basic AF lessons. Because I am ethnically south Asian and look visibly Indian most people probably thought I was some low level 3rd world immigrant who moved there to do manual labour or some other slave work, didn't appreciate the passive racism. Saw that all the white people were treated better by BOE given better placements more respect as human beings. The place I lived was some shit danchi social housing block, no restaurants nearby. I could go on, but after 3 months I snapped why should I put with all that shit for more or less £20K a year? Flew back home, got back to teaching in the UK, yeah its stressful but at least I'm earning double the salary again and I have my freedom and at least people don't make assumptions about me here just cause I'm brown. Do I regret it? Hell yes, there's a reason JET is targeted at new grads and the majority of JETs are fresh graduates and Americans because they're the only 2 groups of people who would be willing to put up with the exploitation and bullshit of this programme. Anyone with sense would look elsewhere for better job/life prospects.
