For now i try to only use the piano, i decided to this to keep it simple and also to focus my attention on melody writing. Composing with a single instrument is easier than composing with multiple instruments as there are less things to keep track of, and the piano is sufficient for most things.
I could probably change some parts here and there and add some trumpets, i'm not sure if it will actually sound good, i will try and see.

I think trying with just 1 instrument to start is fine to keep it simple, but you should definitely try adding more to it since you the piano is pretty good.

Well, i tried but most notes are out of range and the transition between trumpets and piano is awkward.

beware that measure 32 contains a soft rallentando (tempo should slow down from 160 to 155) which is messed by the midi file, you can use the pdf for reference to fix it.

Can someone answer this please? i need to know if the music conveys the emotion or picture i have in my head. What emotion do you get from this? does it sound happy, sad, melancholic, scary, etc.? Which 2hu does it makes you think of? And most importantly does it sound like 2hu? (i.e. if you were to listen to this without context would recognize it as a 2hu style song?)

Also wanted to add the timestamps that stick out to me to be a more helpful:

00:28-00:30 and 00:37-00:39 random piano beats that don't fit in with the rest of the music.
00:43-00:46 the change here is a little sudden and out of nowhere, I like the piano being played here though.
01:02-01:03 another sudden change
01:12 and the continuation is a bit too chaotic and feel like piano spam
01:21-01:24 another sudden change
It ended too abruptly instead at 02:20-02:23

Yeah it seems my problem with the track is the changes in melody and rhythm not blending together and feeling like they've been forcibly stitched together. However other than that it's genuinely nice. But it's something that stands out.

Bingo, i basically tried to make something that sounds like Gengetsu's theme but more intense. I used the same chord progression in the beginning of Gengetsu's theme.

Sounds a lot more like a touhou theme. I'd imagine this as a stage 2 theme. Also I think 150/160 BPM sounds better if you want it to be slow/fast. 140 is too slow and 170 is too fast.

whenever I transcribe ZUN songs into MIDI, I always have to pay attention to the variations in the drum track since I can't just copypaste like I did in the original, so yeah, I'll focus on that a bit more next time. Good point!
