For the Lapisbros, I found two things from the internet that may intrigue you.
Here's the first one, from 5ch (https://krsw.5ch.net/test/read.cgi/gamesm/1667719609/148).). Putting these in Translate, these are what LapiLai would've gotten:
>The main story new chapter is 79 episodes for 7 chapters.
>Unit story new 6 episodes + 6 episodes (2 chapters), Ray formation episode 13 episodes.
>The 5 episodes of the event story have been completely recorded for 28 episodes, and the 4 episodes that the teachers saw are just the tip of the iceberg.
>Other Cards Stories, Battle Voices and other huge creations.
The other thing on this list was:
>The analysis archives of Chinese volunteers have been completely erased.

Last February 10, the Chinese General Administration of Press and Publication released a new approval information for domestic online games. One of these games is Lapis Re:Lights, which would be distributed by BiliBili.
The article also pointed out that the game was originally developed by Shengqu Games, which is why it was checked and approved that way.
Meanwhile, Japanese fans are now aware of this. Time will tell what will happen next.

I really don't want to say this, but my experience with yurifags and yuri hasn't been pleasant, and I say this as someone who actually likes yuri (in addition to other genres). Their fans tend to be pretty extreme and closed-minded for whatever reason. You can even see those types on /a/ as well and it seems in recent years they've become the dominant form of yuri fan in Japan at least for otaku media.

Is it me or have yuri fans become way more militant over the last few years? They weren't like this before and frankly it's affecting my enjoyment of the genre. It's becoming hard for me to actually like yuri stuff when people who are into it tend to be so closed-minded and militant. Like, I'm probably one of the few yuri fans left who doesn't mind other genres and consumes several kinds of stuff, whereas the hard yuri fans now tend to really only like yuri now, and a specific type of yuri no less (i.e. the ones where males are either de-emphasized or non-existent). The funny thing is that, from what I can tell, militant yuri fans tend to be men, not women, so it's not only self-hatred but also seemingly contradictory.

>> No.42738334

>>42738293
they justify their behavior because actual yuri content / franchises is pretty rare. most of the yuri fandom exists in terrible non official ships and head canon. i remember telling some yuri fanatics that most of blue reflection is poorly written yuri bait and they immediately got all defensive with their passive aggressive behavior. never mind the facts that there's a girl in 1 that has a crush on her male senpai and the only "yuri"character in the first game is basically just comedic relief. Then the sequel comes around and there is actual real yuri and it's written so badly that you could remove it out of the game entirely and nothing would have changed.

Also never bring up Kishida or Tsuchiya to them, they want to continue existing in their own deluded head canon that the series isn't about sexualizing JKs.

>> No.42738346

>>42737629
It's a damn shame the Gust thread just went and died. Admittedly there isn't much to talk about aside from when the new Atelier comes out or if someone new to the games came in and asked about stuff. It probably would been spammed off the board with all of the vtuber threads anyway.

>> No.42738361

>>42738334
So you're saying it doesn't matter to them if canon yuri is poorly written or contrived as long as it's actual yuri?

>most of the yuri fandom exists in terrible non official ships and head canon.
The funny thing is that you can pretty much say the same thing for yaoi, and yet generally speaking, militant yaoi is nowhere near as common as militant yuri. I'm not saying it exists: it does, and militant fujoshi are just as bad or even worse than militant yuri fans (they've even sent death threats in the past!), it's just that my impression is that the average yuri fan is more likely to be militant than the average yaoi fan, and I have no idea why.

>> No.42738400

>>42738346
it's probably better that those threads died before Ryza came out. Ryza introduced a bunch of coomer tourists to Atelier and the series basically never existed before Ryza at this point now.

>>42738361
That is essentially why yuri fans are so crazy about Blue Reflection. They are losing their shit and genuinely getting very upset that their yuri series is now a harem series with a male mc. If anything Gust adding the male mc was probably due to the poor sales of tie and them doubling down on the yuri content. Turns out the yuri market isn't actually big at all and a lot of Gust fans got turned off by the sequel toning down all the fan service and shoehorning a forced yuri plot that goes absolutely nowhere in the game.

>> No.42738411

>>42738400
So you're saying that the yuri *hurt* sales rather than helped? Doesn't that go against the common narrative on 4chan that yuri boosts interest and popularity rather than the opposite?

>that is essentially why yuri fans are so crazy about Blue Reflection.
I was speaking more in general than about BR specifically. In fact I had Kirara and CGDCT fans in mind rather than BR when I made that post.

So people were lying when they said that Lycoris and G-Witch were popular because of the yuri? Gust tried to reboot the series as a full on yuri franchise with the anime and tie. They both drastically under performed and Sun is the only reference to BR in any of the KT financial reports, they already gave up on BR as a series going forward it seems. I think Tie sold more than 1, but at the same time it had a way bigger budget and got a huge multimedia launch with it. Gust sales post Ryza 1 are also way higher for all of their games now too along with overall videogames sales increasing every year. Either way, references of tie and the anime were scrubbed pretty quickly by KT.

In the end I think the main things killing the series was them toning down all of the fanservice and most people don't actually like or care for yuri.In the end BR was always just a slice of life jrpg with lots of JK fanservice. I just view the male MC as damage control because they need to make their money back. Also Shiho is basically the main love interest in Sun which I'm sure makes yuri fanatics super upset.

Unrelated but I'm pretty sure Tie was banned in Russia because of the yuri content too which I found funny.

>>42738452
i think some series can break out and be popular because of the yuri aspects, BR was never a big series and them going all in on yuri did nothing for it.

>>42738487

>>42738556
The anime was pretty boring, it would have been better if it was only 1 cour. Tie ignored some of the unique character traits like them having scars which was pretty important to their character arcs. All in all it felt really disconnected because Tie didn't include those details, mostly just due to low effort or miscommunication I guess.

The only memes to come out of the show were how autistic the girls were and the single male at the konbini. Think about it, why was it that China approved the game for distribution months after the game shut down in Japan? And also, if Shengqu Games is the original developer the game like the article pointed out, was it the developer issues and arguments between them and Klab/Kadokawa that caused the game to end service in the first place? Not to mention the question of release by Shengqu and BiliBili.
Again, there are many questions, and the future is uncertain.

>Tie had a bad story
Geez, some people really got a bad case of mobage brain or something. The two Blue Reflection games had actually something that's rare in the game industry: Good writing with drama that stays grounded. (English translation aside, that one sucked)
It even took a really badly written char out of the garbage anime, and made her work. Something that's insanely hard to do.

The gameplay's quality is average at best, the OST weaker than in BR1 (still better than what the anime did), but if you complain about BR2's story.. I dunno what to say.

>there's only friendship between women and nothing more.
Also that was never my point. Of course lesbians exist. I even know some. My point is that women being close friends with each other does not automatically mean they are lesbians, which is against the narrative of some that women cannot be close to each other unless they are lesbians, or that close friendships automatically mean being a lesbian.

To give you an example: back in high school I knew multiple female schoolmates who had female friend groups. And guess what? Eventually, they got married to men and had children. The same thing happened in college. I myself had female friends who were also friends with other women, but they all either had boyfriends or got married to men. Those kinds of experiences are what made me wonder if those kinds of yuri fans have even had interactions with female friend groups in their lives, because if they did, they'd know that close female friendship does not automatically mean they're lesbians.

Leader-kun manages the magical girl squad but he eventually falls in love with one of the girls, and so does she, but it turns out she's a traitor who's trying to get into the world's common to wipe everyone out. Again.

But traitor is tired of doing this so she proposes Leader-kun becomes the Adam to her Eve, gets her (both metaphorically and literally) pregnant, and creates a new world with her for humanity. This is why BRS protagonist had to be male.

This is as far as we know from the story, rest of it is just Leader-kun solving the girls' issues.

How do rythym-game idol mobages work exactly? I've only played autobattler gacha, in which you are encouraged to log in daily and grind to match increasing enemy stats and get roll currency. In a rythym game however, I can't see any way there could be an artifical stat barrier like that. What do these games typically do instead, or I am I getting it all wrong?

There's not a stat barrier in terms of "you need to have this card or you physically cannot progress," of course.
But they can come out with new skills that boost points in different ways, resulting in teams that blow the older teams way out of the water.
Not just "same boost but bigger numbers," but also "bigger boost but with specific conditions that you need to plan rest of the team around" and such.
But I'd say the main draw fueling the gacha is "This idol is cute, I want more outfits for her/versions of her/whatever."
Then again, that's my main driving force in pretty much all gacha games.

Is it that an idol card will have a base score multiplier on it depending on the rarity, or that each card has specific situations in which the score would be increased? Can you give some examples of that, or link to a wiki page with examples?
I'm asking all this because I'm brainstorming a hypothetical bullet-hell gacha game, and in that genre you can't really change the damage or health to wall people or it wouldn't work. The system used in idol games would fit much better, playing for perfect runs or high scores. Idle game-like gameplay like Nikke would fit as well, with the only daily thing some sort of randomized boss run, but in this case you would re-play the story levels to get higher max scores on them, maybe to accumulate some sort of stage points to unlock new stages. Of course, more of that gives you more passive resource income for enhancing stuff and rolling as well.

My experience with rhythm gacha is mostly just im@s.
At a base level you've got Score Bonus that stays pretty static, and Combo Bonus that increases as you don't fuck up.
You can only have one of each at a time (usually,) but they're not on all the time. It'll be like "x% chance to activate every y seconds, and lasts for z seconds."
But there's also ones with special conditions on top of that, and skills that affect the other skills.

>Can you give some examples of that, or link to a wiki page with examples?
Depending on how deep you wanna go, a wiki page on skills in Theater Days (fewer skills here, so a bit simpler):
https://project-imas.wiki/THE_iDOLM@STER_Million_Live!_Theater_Days/Skills
And a teambuilding guide for Starlight Stage (mainly the last couple sheets):

>Is it that an idol card will have a base score multiplier on it depending on the rarity
Rather than the rarity, it's the score stated on the card. The score will be directly proportional to the combined score of the cards you use in your unit.

>and in that genre you can't really change the damage or health to wall people or it wouldn't work.
Why not? The worst that players will have to do is to go through the same patterns the enemy throws at them a little longer, or be a little better at dodging than someone who whaled for a tanky unit. People who can 1cc lunatic should have no problem clearing it with an N rarity unit.

>>42771375
That's pretty much every rhythm game. Skills are mainly divided into three categories:
>score increase, such as by a % of base score or by % of combo count
>judgement strengthening, where the timing window of getting a perfect judgement is increased (as in a note that would normally be judged as great is judged as perfect instead) or sometimes a note that would normally break combo instead keeps combo, usually by giving a good instead)
>life increase. There's a life bar of sorts that depletes whenever you get a bad or miss, and these skills just restore the bar, and in some cases allow for overflow
These are the main skill types but there may be a number of fringe skills that don't fall under any of these types (for example Starlight Stage has a skill that increases the effectiveness of other skills), and not all these skills would necessarily appear in every gacha rhythm game (for example D4DJ doesn't have judgement strengthening skills).

You can also classify them into the number of times each skill procs per song. Games like im@s and Love Live ones proc multiple times per song, then some games proc them only once per song.
