2 points that I enjoyed in the finale which were different from the other showings:
1) When Full Admission Mode comes to an end and Kiito tells Ui she's always believed in Team Funada, she leans in smiling (I guess it's just Ishii and Saiba having their usual sibling intimacy moment but I felt it had more impact than the times where they just sat there side by side)
2) Nakamura had the idea to hide the Takane/Kanaho kiss using her CHARM. During the finale, she goofed and did it with the handle along her inner arm instead of her outer arm (which allowed for less space to move as a result) + the handle apparently got caught on the wire keeping her wig in place, so the cover was pretty much blown. Otakus rejoiced.

The showing where Ishii accidentally punted the set so hard that it cracked open (the now memetic セット破壊 incident) was on 11 Feb.

But yes, agreed that the things people are looking for or interested in "in the west" (using the term broadly to refer to EOP/English-using audiences) are different from those Japanese fans are usually into. A lot of /u/ threads and English-medium discussion gets rather tedious to read because some anons/viewers are very insistent about how they want Confirmed Yuri or Confirmed Lesbians or No Icky Males because...suggesting characters are in a relationship or the typical yuri genre tropes is not enough for them anymore. I can't speak for all English-medium or Japanese-medium fans but the enjoyment in seeing a pairing you like getting screentime or fanworks feels like it has diminished among audiences because of this preoccupation with how your ship must be final endgame, hints don't count.

Usually it's not a problem unless the company starts pandering to the "western sensibilities" (that is, a very loud vocal minority on Twitter, not the actual fans). There's a simple solution for that though, just never pander to the west.
