Not just cut but also censored content like the gore CGs. Stock PC version is busted with the cuts content. Restoration patch is the only way to read it if you don't have a 360. could have been a good mystery with Takumi trying to solve the murders remotely from his container, slowly uncovering a conspiracy by doing so and becoming more and more paranoid
Instead he just spend most of the story searching for his totally not magic sword between two schizo delusions and getting harassed by other schizo girls while the whole conspiracy is awkwardly revealed during the intermissions with the detective.

Sometimes. One of the biggest utsuge is Inochi no Spare. Hard not to get spoiled by CGs but just based on the synopsis you expect a soul shattering ending. When you go in it starts with a dude screaming and you just know yup this will end badly. The expectation is created but if you get attached to the characters and the writing's not dogshit it'll succeed. Nakige the same. Read Clannad or Little Busters and you know what you're getting into and usually they succeed because the characters are nice and there's fun times before the cry drama.

The kusoge I read didn't do that. Bad characters or bad writing and not enough fun time. Somehow they're highly rated nakige though. I read reviews and it was like they played a different game. The reviews that shared my opinion still ended up giving 70-80/100.
I found a dude on youtube doing a longplay and watched the key drama parts and shook my head. Insane speedreader who skipped all voices but read the lines out robotically and making up shit not in the text. Sometimes skipped lines because he clicked too fast. He mentioned he predicted the big plot twists early and he never cried but at the end gave it a 93/100 top 5 nakige. I should stop looking at scores, ranks and reviews because apparently everyone's retarded or newfags with 0 exposure to stories.

Red Cherish was just alright, but Eternity Blood is legitimately fantastic and the climax is incredible. It's very rare to see a fandisc be this much better than the original game, especially since it's a solo heroine game and Unica was my least favourite of the original three heroines. The climax was admittedly somewhat undermined by Hermann's voice actor trying to do a Christian Bale Batman impression when he goes into his super priest mode and he just sounds silly. It was not a good idea to try to have him give a big speech about the dangers of transhumanism while the voice actor is clearly struggling to make his voice as deep and gravelly as possible. Also cloning MC so he can fuck Melch is all kinds of fucked. Very highly recommended. No Alice h-scenes is a bit of a disappointment though.

It's not totally impossible to pick up decent amount of language from watching with subtitles. You'll pick up some common phrases and ways they connect to one another aka some basic grammar. But of course it takes some effort and dedication to actually try to parse and pattern match what you hear instead of just reading subtitles mindlessly.
Note that kids don't learn grammar until school but they could understand and use language properly way earlier than that.
