Considering the copious amounts of "Kawaii" stuff in 2000s Japanese media, it can quite get tiring
There's also the phenomena of "Cute aggreseion" when someone sees something so cute they want to squeeze it or hurt it
It can also be the case of people hating a character and hurting that variant of a character like Jissouseki, or simply because of sadism
