Finally finished Tsukihime, what a ride.
I enjoyed the Arc route the most, but overall I think the Far Side was narratively stronger with better characterization of it's small, yet charming cast.
Fate is the objectively better VN, but I think I like Tsukihime more. Shiki is just such a interesting and relatable protagonist.

Should I read the rest of the Tsukihime stuff, or go to Maho next? I also still haven't read Hollow Attaraxia. What do you guys think?

For one, Kirei tells Saber after the basement scene that he was the one who caused the fire by wishing for a way to separate Kiritsugu and her, as he was fighting them together(?). This despite the fact that Saber herself says that she was the one who caused the fire by destroying the grail. Saber mentions in a bad end that she saw Kiritsugu shot Kirei through the heart, which begs the question if Kirei's wish was only fulfilled *after* their fight was finished and after Saber destroyed the grail. Also for some reason Saber doesn't know Gilgamesh is Kirei's Servant -- which given the fact that Kirei was the last remaining Master... should've been the logical conclusion.

Nasu was genuinely winging it when it came to what happened during the 4th HGW.

weaker. His limbs atrophied, his sight began to fade, and he had completely lost the
ability to use magecraft. He was not much different from a terminally ill patient. He
couldn’t even find the starting point of the bounded field, and could only wander in
the blizzard, waiting till death.
He understood all his attempts had been in vain – recently Kiritsugu had already
faintly felt that his time was probably up. In other words, he probably hadn’t had
much time left since the moment he became cursed by the black mud.

The whole Kirei situation isn’t *that* confusing.
Saber seeing Kiritsugu shoot Kirei through the heart complies with them fighting together, and Kirei shows in HF that he can still operate, even with a damaged heart, so it’s not like that was a mandatory end to their fight.
Furthermore, Saber does not have knowledge of the truth of the grail, she simply assumed the mud came from the Excaliblast, when in truth, it actually came from Kirei.

How she didn’t know Kirei was Gil’s master? Dunno, she could’ve assumed he was just staying around through Independent Action, and didn’t want to assume a connection.

I wish you could see Shiki and Shirou's faces more often in Tsukihime and F/sn. They're cute. I like how in Melty Blood you do get artwork for Shiki with different expressions.

Sure, but everything afterwards still goes with the "Saber destroyed the Grail" narrative. Like, Illya mentions in HF she is not sure if Kiritsugu knew of Angra Mainyu when he decided to destroy the Grail, but that he did the right thing (or less wrong thing) in that scenario -- with the implication being that he had in fact found out about All the World's Evil existence, and that that's why he decided to order Saber to blast it with Excalibur.

Yeah, but this doesn't exclude Kirei's wish. Saber can destroy the grail and it can still grant Kirei's wishes, it literally happened in Zero, just as they described in the original.

Oh yeah, no doubt there. While it was absolutely impossible to write a compelling story where everything happened exactly as described in the VN, and therefore there were some changes, it was a pretty neat adaptation, with highlights given to Waver and Iskandar. Although, I can't really get that behind Zero if only because of the way Saber and Kirei act, it really felt like Urobuchi was ignoring a lot of their lore to do anything with them.

There are two applications to Event Storage. A more passive, wide version and a localized one. When Arc used it on Roa at the school she created a world and placed Roa inside that world so he was subjected to her own laws. She could then do anything with him at that point, and would have had she not been dying.
