Although there's a point in the story where your stats get lowered (thus lowering the cost to raise them as well); this is the perfect time to raise stats (before they go back up again). Early on definitely raise card levels though.

If you lose a battle, there is no hope for you. They're almost impossible to lose if you don't suck.

I was putting all my exp into the attack to get maximum damage and bonus exp for overkilling and speed. Then my stats got nerfed and enemies got crazy effective cards and it become impossible to win on anything but easy. Don't repeat my mistakes.
