Yeah, Utawarerumono is a good starter, as long as you don't absolutely despise VNs with some gameplay, and even then you can skip it. I personally found the game element fun, but whatever. The plot isn't HOLY SHIT DEEP, but it's interesting enough to keep you engaged, the art is top-notch, as is the music, and it has catgirls.
Definitely one of Leaf's best games.

Kira Kira was consistently hilarious, but the story wasn't really anything special. I did like the parts dealing with Shikanosuke becoming more mature, though.

>> No.4258946 [DELETED]

>>4258925
Not really.
I loved it because it accurately portrayed the dilemma of Shikanosuke, between continuing with his childish dream or becoming an adult.
Of course Kirari's death was important to his characterization but this route really wasn't that much about that.

>> No.4259762

All of them. But in all of those, sexual content amounts to maybe 1% of the whole game, and can be easily skipped. Tsukihime's and Cross Channel's translation patches offer an option make the skip automatical.

On another note, Inganock's sex scenes are all told from female perspective and are not erotic at all, though.

Hmm, ok then.

Kira Kira. It's probably the only translated visual novel with band as a theme, and it does it well. The story starts from forming band for school festival(with literature club members), and it goes from there. You have touring, meeting yakuza, family trouble... And humor is great too.
Picture related, that's ROCK AND ROLL going on there.

Cross Channel is a weird one. You can't really say much about the game without spoiling something. Let's just say that it's considered a classic and it received critical acclaim.
Do not check Wikipedia or VNDB. You will be spoiled.

For lots of people Tsukihime is the first VN they played. It's a good introduction to genre with uncommon theme lots of content. Since it was first released 10 years ago, the graphics are dated, but the story is very worth it.
Basically required reading, people talk about Type-Moon's games alot.
