Ok, thanks. So when I structured it as 本を勉強, I was saying that I 'study the book' (as in the book itself), and 使う modifies it to say 'use the book to study' in the te-form. So it should be something like 私は日常家で日本語の本を使って勉強します ?

私バカじゃない
私バカだつた
私大好き初音ミク
愛してる初音ミク
Are these sentences gramatically correct or am I missing something here?
Is there a difference between using 大好き and 愛してる?
Anki example sentences use 大好き but 愛してる feels like it makes more sense when directly talking about someone you love

+ yomichan helps with figuring out the translation of what a word means (but sometimes, you will have a incantation that requires you to scroll 10 pages down yomichan to get the correct meaning due to te, and etc form and there being a long list of common words with the same letters.)
Jisho.org also helps break down sentences too (but it is a tiny bit difficult to understand as an absolute beginner who doesn't know any grammar).
Just grind hiragana, katakana, learn a few words a day, and study basic grammer harder.

I really dont mind kanji, but the 3 way association you have to form in your head is difficult.
For many words I can either recognize the meaning of the kanji but not the way its spoken or I can understand it spoken but couldn't tell you what the kanji means.

So I think I'm ready to start reading, plan on starting with からかい上手の高木さん.
The question is, do I get a physical Manga or a digital one that I can use screen reader aids for easier lookups and stuff?
I'm hardcore waffling. On one hand, there is something fun about the sound of buying my first real moon rune book. But then I think maybe for learning I'll have way more tools available on a pc. And then I think, welllll maybe having those tools will end up becoming a crutch and I'll have less retention doing it that way.

Help me anons.

>> No.42602480

>>42602469
i never used those tools, always manually looked up kanji i couldn't read
i do think it majorly helped retention
but also I know that if i had used those tools, I would have learned anyway. in any case I don't think it's a big deal. I think your personality is what really matters. if you're one of those impatient types who simply can't stand having to look up every kanji maybe the other method is better.

The thought of looking them up isn't daunting to me. At least with manga, you are typically going to have the kana, so translation shouldn't be hard and I assume the simple act of typing the phonetic would help with retention. How you look up Kanji you forget the phonetic for or have never even seen, I have yet to get far enough to learn.
Sounds good, I was leaning towards the physical chapters, if just once. Just something fun about the idea of it.

Yeah, this isn't a particular long or pricy one (18 volumes). They can be found for like 100$ for a complete set (though there is a sequel with them as adults). Love the anime, and I've read a few chapters in English and thought it was pretty good. Not peak media by any means, but fun and wholesome and nostalgic.

Either type other words you know that have that kanji in them and delete the extra, or scrawl in the handwriting input window in google translate and copy that. You'll probably need to do this at least a handful of times even for this because of handwritten text.

One time reading Yotsubato I had to consult the English translation because I couldn't distinguish strokes on a handwritten 爆発.

Ngmi.

But to not JUST ride your ass, I will suggest a quick run through realkana. Skip the paid for game, and this idea you are going to study kana daily. You learn kana through exposure and literacy.
It's very common for learners to nail hiragana right out the gate, and struggle with katakana for a good while. The early stuff just rarely focuses much on them (because it's mostly loan words and engrish type stuff). Studying kana as a daily task is unquestionably a waste of your time for something you will learn rapidly without trying. You just need to be able to go through all of them once without an error on realkana and you are good to move on and not look back.

I had this sentence, when my character was trying to tell me that it's not a good time to explore.
So I started wondering about this past tense + のでは.
I found these two sources that explain it's a form of "if":
>https://japanese.stackexchange.com/questions/72517/
Why do I mention this? Because it's just some random guy on the internet. I can't find anything on it anywhere else. I tried Japanese dictionaries and all those JP sites that teach grammar, but there's nothing.
