Hello, /jp/.

I kind of wanted to get into Higurashi and Umineko, or at least try.
Any suggestions? Are the games translated?

>> No.4257845

Forget about it.
Play Cross Channel and Sharin no Kuni instead.

>> No.4257881

Higurashi is like 70% slice of life, and I think only the first 4 arcs are translated.

Umineko is more of a clusterfuck, though. Pick your poison?

>> No.4257888

Yes. Translated. Witch-Hunt for Umineko. Mangagamer and Sonozaki Fugotachi for Higurashi. We're editing manga gamers release...check our thread.

I'm amused by clusterfucks. I tried the animu, so I have a vague idea of how trainwreck Umineko is, but I still wanted to try.

So Umineko is all done, and Higurashi only up to the 4th arc?

>> No.4257935

No, Higurashi is done with (only recently translated), Umineko is up to EP6 & translated up to EP5.

If by "all done" you mean "all available arcs translated" then no.

Prepared to get flamed by butthurt Umineko fans for that comment.
>>4257923
Also, Umineko is not done, 5 out of the 6 released Episodes are translated. No word on how many there will be in total.

There is no Umineko anime.

What.

As an Umineko fan myself, that comment is absolutely true. It's a fucking trainwreck, you would have to be an idiot to say otherwise.

And, like a trainwreck, it's so hard to take your eyes away from it.

I didn't say that it sucks, as a matter of fact I like it. A lot of things are silly, confused or just plain don't make sense, but I still like it because it has a lot of interesting ideas. I love murder mysteries, meta-levels, science vs. supernatural debates, and i'm in love with the idea of "colored text" used to state different degrees of truth.

Thank you. Wow, I got a lot of helpful and reasonable answers. I'm amazed, /jp/. You're good.

Well, if you like that, you'll love the VN. It makes way more sense than the anime (on some bizarre level). And yeah, the anime just presents some of the basic elements, but then they turn fucking awesome in the VN.
