I downloaded the kanjidamage plus deck and whoever made it actually removed the good original mnemonics to make it more E rated. "Guy with 2 dicks" became "flailing girl" and changed the extremely memorable "orgy" and "fuck" radicals. What a goddamn travesty. I'm changing it back and making up my own mnemonics for every card that has em.

How the fuck am I supposed to learn with the core 2.3k deck?
I see a kanji once then have to try to memorise its readings and meaning. Everything I read says to do them real quick, so theres no time to write them out and slowly try to learn them.
Or do you just smash through them so fast that even if you repeat a card 50+ times it doesnt matter as long as it sticks?
The first 20 kanji where they all look completely different and its all just kuru, iru, omou etc is a nightmare.

I've been studying japanese long enough that when I have free time, I either read a JP novel, a JP VN, play a JP game, or listen to JP asmr.
But I also haven't studied JP long enough that it's effortless (I'm 1.5 years in)...
So now all my past times also drain more of my mental power than I'd like, and I find myself having all day with nothing to do.

What Japanese pronouns do you people use? I've decided to try writing journal entries in JP for fun, and I'm not sure which pronoun I want to use.

I'm not going to use 私 because it's too formal (especially because the journal is meant for my eyes only) and I don't want to use 僕 either because it seems too soft/childish.

I'm leaning towards 俺, but I want to sound unique without sounding like a tryhard or like I'm playing a character.

I'm also considering 自分。 I know it can also mean something like "oneself" and I've heard some people say it sounds militaristic.
