Before Nijisanji chuubas were all 3D with motion capture. They posted 5-10 minutes videos 2-3 times a week. There was some effort behind, and content was varied since they were a new thing and shit was experimental at first. Most of them were corporate products but some had a lot of SOVL since they were garage companies. Then you had absolute soulless corporate jokes like Yua trying to jump into the fad to make bank.
People using Live2D, anime girl static pics, or whatever that wasn't their real faces to make youtube/niconico videos or streaming vidya also existed, but no one considered chuubas, they were their own separate thing.

After Nijisanji started operations that line separating chuubas from live2D completely vanished. Chuuba scene became all about low effort vidya streaming with anime girl avatar, basically twitch for weebs. Nijisanji dumping a new batch of """"talents"""" every month didn't help. Then Hololive expanded their operations with a slighty more curated lineup of anime girls and took over the market.

Similar to how Yotsuba is the default for first manga to practice reading Japanese, is there an anime that's good for practicing listening to it?
I was just gonna pick an old kids show like Doraemon or something and put an episode or two on in the background while I do some minor chores but I know people used to go on how learning Japanese through anime was a bad idea and never found out if was because people try and use the the wrong kind of anime to learn from or if its overall better to just put on NHK or some other news channel.

I am certain I am slow because I need more than 3 seconds to memorise a card and end up retrying numerous times. Adding cards that I forgot from previous days, and it becomes a hitting retry until I by chance get a card right. Usually even when I memorise reading for that day, I forget meaning, and before I get to the card again, I already forget the reading again. It's a vicious cycle.
