This delivery of medicine and consumables will do much to aid the unfortunates of this world. I’ll be here to take questions after the briefing from one of our patrons.” She drew a small flat crystalline oval from her purse, and extended her translucent claw around it as she held it before them. The object sparkled before producing a floating image of an small horned girl, in a tight fitting labcoat.

The small figure kept a neutral expression as she spoke, her voice mature and calm. “The outbreak of Flaviviridae in the Plactic Basin has reached a fever pitch.” Someone chuckled, though Ife wasn’t sure why. The holographic Baphomet scowled and glared to her side before continuing. “This quite serious and life-threatening outbreak has taken root among the local humans. The Order’s response, a large quarantine perimeter and a total lack of aid, hasn’t helped matters. They’ve rather made the situation more complicated. The natural swamps are difficult to navigate and the locals are understandably unfriendly to outsiders. Infighting and opportunistic banditry have been increasing as a result of Order mis-management. Without external intervention the death toll will be massive.”

The figure shifted to a sort of map, Ife realized, though not the sort she had ever seen before. A yellow line surrounded a basin, the latter was spotted with differently colored points. Perhaps well aware that most were not familiar with the image, the voice continued. “The spatial distortions, indicated by the small dots, interfere with our teleportation attempts into the area. In addition, these spatial distortions make the Order’s perimeter, the yellow line surrounding the area, worthless as a quarantine measure.” A scattering of the mottled points appeared outside the yellow line. “Each of these points likely connects to some point inside the perimeter. I’ve been informed that at least half a decade of research would be needed to correct for such widespread teleportation distortions. The highest concentration of related spatial nodes that break the perimeter is here.” A cluster of points brightened.

“A few locals were discovered here by our agents. The majority were at Hel’s door, and wouldn’t have survived without treatment. The patient samples prove that the local swamps are hotbeds of a wide variety of Flaviviridae. The spatial mappings provided by the rescued humans are piecemeal. Nonetheless our sister organization assures me that this strongly indicates that navigation *into* the area, via natural spatial distortions, is a complex and multivariate phenomena. They can’t reliably get back into the area via the distortions ”

“While I don’t have direct proof of enhanced local mutagenic effects spurring viral evolution, the patient screening shows that there is no single cure that can treat such a varied set of related diseases. Our options remain, limited though they may be. By happenstance”, and here the speaker finally showed a small trill of pleasure in her voice, “the heavily stocked air-train you are riding is passing by the highest clustering of exit points.” A line of green, appeared, cutting through the brightest set of points.

“As of today, one of our adventurous local volunteers has set off the widest yield mana beacon we could give him, from within the region. He was instructed to activate it upon spreading as much outrageous and motivating gossip regarding your payload as possible. The particulars of your schedule and route were to be given exactly by the local agents. Please do not deviate from the set route. I will leave all remaining questions to Doctor Gadise Mekbib Kassa, and trust that she and her colleagues should also be able to handle any post-medicinal problems as they occur.” The Wight holding the device gave a small curtsy.

The image of the map shifted back to the small figure in an equally small labcoat. The little doctor bowed deeply. “I thank you all for your help. Please do your best.” With that, the image faded entirely. The Wight, Doctor Gadise, retracted her transparent claw and put away the small crystalline device.

So, the first and less-interesting story element I've written down for the Order was the existence of a group within the church that essentially carry out wet-work against (human) enemies of the church. The main leader, who's given the title "The Left Hand of God", is currently missing because he was sent on a mission to assassinate what was thought to be human target, but it was actually Shirokuto, and they fought each other to a standstill. Things happen, he begins questioning his allegiance, and he's currently her prospective husband. There's more to this but I haven't fleshed it out quite yet..

Also if you think it's too dark for MGE, it isn't. Fallen Brides 2 had a girl who became a cursed sword who did something similar for an organization under the Noscrims.

The main story element I have for the (current-day) Order revolves around one key idea: The Chief God isn't injured and resting. She's missing, and has been for the last thousand years. The other gods, desperately wanting to hold on to their waning control over humans, pretend the above isn't true and even impersonate the CG when answering prayers. The Demon Lord, for her part, goes along with this because the Order, for all its faults, is a major stabilizing force in human realms, and if it disintegrated due to missing the head honcho of the entire religion it'd cause serious strife amongst humanity. So instead she sent one of the lilim to go undercover disguised as an archangel, who is currently one of the most influential heroes within the Order. It's due to this lim that the Order's campaigns against monsters are so legendarily incompetent, but at the same time the lim makes sure when it comes to overthrowing corrupt tyrants or providing humanitarian aid the Order is always on point.

If you're wondering, yes this lim also had something to do with Lescastie as well. Long story short, her sister Druella showed her the horrific atrocities being committed by the Noscrims, and convinced her to not react to the invasion.

Anyway, that long autistic plot-dump aside, the point is that even with the present-day Order there's a lot of stuff that can be done while also keeping within the bounds of what's acceptable in MGE. KC has essentially given a world with some bare-bones rules and told us to go nuts, and I think not using one of the main factions of the setting when building on his world is kind of a waste.
