Yes. It was just Ryukishi trying too hard to make the fights epic.

Practically everything in Umineko is a useless addition:

personally I thought there was gonna be purple text

>Purple is the color of good judgment. It is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Purple is a good color to use in meditation.

>Purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery, as well as royalty. Being the combination of red and blue, the warmest and coolest colors, purple is believed to be the ideal color. Most children love the color purple. Purple is the color most favored by artists. Thursday's color is purple.

>Violet is the color of purpose. Violet is associated with the Crown chakra (This links individual and universal).

>Wear purple when you want to encourage fantasy, mystery and imagination.

>Purple combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic.

The only way I was able to reason it out is he had that discussion before with Virgilia about the trust between reader and author, and how Beatrice was the "author" of these gameboards, etc., so by discovering the entire truth, he effectively became an "author" too. The author of a story obviously does not need proof to show a character is dead. If the author says they are dead, their word is basically that of a god.

It's bullshit and filled with holes, but I found it easier to accept than Ryukishi not knowing what the fuck he is doing. Only problem is that line of reasoning highly supports the Fiction End people are thinking of.

I like to think of the gold text as a message from the writer himself.
It's from battler who would not make roundabout ways and twisting words to say something so we can take it at face value with no hidden meanings, and it's being said as the game master himself and the gold text speaks only the truth.

It is the truth.
Evidence is not needed to prove it is true or not
I said it therefore it is true.
Even if you have evidence that says otherwise, it does not change the truth.

He only used it once for episode 5, but we can expect him to pull it out a few more times in later episodes.
If he goes out of his way to use it then it's probably pretty important to pay attention.

Here's my interpretation:

Red text is ∃, holds as long as one possible interpretation within the game holds. I have two cats, both are called Biscuit, one is dead. "Biscuit is dead" can be stated in red. Gold text is ∀, it holds for every interpretation within the game's boundaries. To state that "Kinzo is dead" in gold, there must be no way any Kinzo within the borders of the Rokkenjima game (this includes, but is not necessarily composed of, the entire island) is alive in any form, leaving no room for any doubt.

Bullshit like "It is possible to interpret character X as Kinzo" does not hold. Consider all characters to have inherent tags. Kinzo has the [USHIROMIYA KINZO] tag. If I state "This is the body of Ushiromiya Kinzo", it refers to people with the [USHIROMIYA KINZO] tag, that is to say, Kinzo. Saying otherwise is akin to saying "1 > 2 because in my interpretation of mathematics 1 has a greater value than 2. "

The Rokkenjima game is often compared to chess, but I liken it to a mathematics problem. The gamemaster presumably sets the inherent definitions of the people on the island, that is, what the are and what they are not, so you cannot go nuts with conspirancy theories. Both red and gold text are designed to do precisely that.

What the fuck did I just write I think I'm turning into Ryukishi.

Now that Umineko promises to be a mystery where we can deduce the truth, people are pissed off because they don't like the possible solutions that the clues are pointing to. Some people find Shkanontrice too ridiculous, and Moon-chan too obvious.

Also, it has to be said that while episodes 1-3 were heavy on giving us mysteries to solve, episode 4 was much more vague, and not a whole lot happened in episode 5. So mystery fags are naturally going to be pissed.

Kanon rescued Battler, and recreated the closed room, which requires him to be in the room. He did not exist in the room.

Erika states in red she is the 18th person. Battler and Beatrice state in red that including her, it's 17.

If the first wasn't damning enough to force Shkannon, the second seals the deal. Without Erika, there are only 16 people. Someone has to be samefagging, and the only person we have even the slightest shred of evidence for that is Shannon and Kanon.

That would probably depend on your stance on the whole DID thing. It's implied that both are created, so the original could very well be a mix of both.

Also, Shannon isn't 'cosplaying' anyone. They've both been developed as separate characters. There are no hints suggesting that Kanon is just an alter ego, as alters have no actual thoughts of their own.

The only way this whole 16 people/DID thing will work is if you acknowledge that we're dealing with at least 2 separate people in one body. Don't make things harder for yourself, anon.

They exist, but they're the same person pretending to be another one. Sayo created her maid Shannon shield ton protect herself from being adopted when she was six, then created Kanon to please Jessica, and everything we know about Kanon (nothing really out of magical scenes) could be Shannon projecting 'what would Kanon say', but I agree this could lead to DID.

I was thinking this.

We can assume anything that happens outside the game board and doesn't involve magic and witches is real, right?

If so, both Kanon and Shannon are acknowledged outside of the game board; Kanon at Jessica's school festival, by her classmates, and Shannon by Eva, when she tells her to stay away from George.

Of course it could be that Shannon was actually Kanon, and that is why Eva is so against them being together (and not only because she's a servant).

So Battlerko asks for a dick sandwich?

Also, Girlronove should have glasses.

Battler? Too slutty?

No such thing

Somehow Mantrice is more moe than Beato. Picturing him getting all sad after Battlerko rejects his cooking is adorable.

And Mantrice's White Day would be HHHNNNNNGH. Somehow it's better to see asshole trolling than PMS trolling.

PMS trolling it's the same as asshole trolling though. It's just that men don't have a way to call it.

All of Umineko is, actually. You end up with more guys but it's worth it for Battlerko and Mantrice.

GAR DLANORSUKE WHERE?!

Why don't you reverse the name?

DIE THE DEATH is suddenly even more awesome. Dlanorsuke is more GAR than Brosa.

...and since the genderbending shouldn't be ridiculous, Knox is still a dude. Dlanorsuke never got to play catch or learn from his also-GAR father.;_;

The whole hoisery debate there was for Rokkenjima Gakuen might come up for this. So, does Battlerko get thigh highs or tights or what?

I think the answer is obvious.

Thigh highs with lacey tops.

>>4236264
Like Battler in the sense that he would have red hair and a penis, yes. Their eyes and faces don't really look too similar in the VN. Angebro probably has a more...depressed-looking face? His hair wouldn't be as ridiculously sexy as Battler's.

>> No.4236294

Genderbent Gakuen? Eh. I'd rather have regular Gakuen instead.

>> No.4236299

Red thigh highs with lacy tops?

There's lots of options for thigh highs. There's patterns and colours to choose from, as well as what grade zettai ryouiki Battlerko would have and whether they'd stay up with elastic or with a garter belt a la the paperweights.

Thigh highs are serious business.

Nope, not genderbent gakuen. Genderbent Umineko and Rokkenjima Gakuen are completely separate things, it's just that there was a sock debate for Gakuen and the same thing could happen for this.
